Her presence was formidable, her hands slapped on the desk, eyes widened as she stared straight at him, teeth clenched, her face full of anger.
But she wasn't very tall.
So much so that when she tried to support her upper body on the 1.2-meter-high desk, she had to tiptoe to be at eye-level with the seated Ke Jin.
Hence, Yuan Qiaoqing made an extra effort to stand on her toes, trying to appear more imposing.
"Cough..." Ke Jin cleared his throat and poured her another glass of water, slowly pushing it in front of her.
He opened his mouth with a smile, as if trying to ease the tension.
"I considered that you might be quite busy, so it wouldn't have been convenient to disturb you."
