After agreeing to Daisy's request, Booker jumped off the airship and made his way alone to the gunsmith's shop in Finkton.
It was almost exactly as Daisy had described.
The place was under the control of the industrial tycoon Fink, where the people were subjected to extreme oppression.
There even existed the bizarre phenomenon of auctioning off jobs.
A job cleaning toilets, for instance, would see its wages driven down again and again in the bidding by the bottom-level workers, creating a frenzied spiral of internal competition.
What's more absurd was that the workers, despite their hard physical labor, were not paid in any currency that carried actual value.
They could only receive special tokens issued by Fink.
These tokens were not recognized by any country in the world and were as worthless as cards casually drawn by a child, good only for buying the impractical, overpriced goods from Fink within Finkton.
