I picked up one of the chakra rods from the fallen Pain member. "Alright, Pain, I'm coming for you!" I could sense his chakra signature and knew where to go.
Just as I was about to leave, I heard someone call my name, "Naruto, where are you headed?" I turned around and saw it was Hinata. I paused for a moment before walking over to her. "I heard Pain attacked the village, so I was helping everyone evacuate and get to safety. I'm sorry I couldn't be there to help you fight," she said.
I smiled and replied, "No worries, Hinata. I'm tough enough to handle this. You did great helping others get to safety. Everyone has their role."
Hinata looked relieved but still curious. "So, where are you off to now?" she asked.
"I'm going to face the real Pain. And yeah, I'm going solo. If anyone asks, just tell them I went to deal with him. Oh, and make sure they clean up these bodies," I said, not waiting for a response before heading out.
As I reached the spot I had tracked from the chakra signature, I found myself under a tree. I could sense the chakra coming from somewhere within the tree.
I walked over and placed a hand on it. Surprisingly, the tree felt like paper. After thinking for a moment, I decided to tear it like paper, and it worked. The tree opened up, revealing a way inside.
Taking a step in, it was pitch dark except for the light coming from the tear I had made.
"What the heck is this place?" I muttered to myself.
Suddenly, a female Shinobi in an Akatsuki cloak appeared in front of what seemed to be a person with mechanical parts. This led to a very worn-out guy with red hair and the same eyes as the Pain members.
As the woman stood in front of him, he finally spoke up.
"Konan, stay out of this!" he ordered.
Following his command, she stepped back and stood beside him.
There were rods sticking out of his back, and his body, filled with mechanical parts, looked to be in terrible shape.
"You're the real Pain, the one behind all the six Pain members?" I asked.
"Naruto Uzumaki, I knew you were strong, but I didn't expect you'd beat them so quickly!" he replied.
"Stop... What's your real name?" I demanded. "Are you Nagato, Jiraiya-sensei's student or not?"
"Looks like you're well-informed, Naruto," he acknowledged.
"So, do I have to drag it out of you, or are you going to answer the big question? Why did you kill Jiraiya-sensei? What was the point of killing someone like him? What did you hope to achieve by killing such a great person?" I fired off a series of questions, my eyes locked on him as he tried to process everything.
"He was an obstacle to peace, the peace I aim to bring to this world," he answered.
"Stop right there. 'Obstacle to peace?' Which peace are you making by killing people with a terrorist organization named Akatsuki, attacking villages, and causing chaos? Do you really think any of the things you're doing are helping to create peace? If you think so, then man, you're delusional."
