"I can't believe you managed to run away from all of that."
Kali's soothing voice almost made Curie puff up her chest in pride as she gave off a smug smile to her goddess. After the debacle that was meeting Shiva's Champion and her subsequent escape, her patron goddess finally showed herself after their supposed meeting. She didn't think that gods could have meetings, but she supposed that even beings of limitless power had to do some bureaucracy and politicking to keep things running.
"I just did what I had to do," Curie proudly stated. "Fighting a losing battle is dumb, and I intend to have my wish granted."
Well, that was what she told herself, at least. She felt a little bad leaving the poor Champion of Tyche to deal with the Champion of Shiva, but the woman at least had Nyx's Champion with her, right? They'll be fine. Of that, she was sure.
