A few women's faces turned pale, revealing expressions of panic, no longer the proud disdain they showed when bad-mouthing Claudia Ross earlier.
Wendy Barton was the first to recover: "Wasn't it said that Claudia Ross is already divorced?"
"Who's so spiteful to curse Claudia Ross with divorce? The couple is well, there's no divorce." Xena Clark indignantly defended Claudia: "Some people just can't stand to see others happy, always making up nonsense to smear others. It's so annoying."
Joey Thompson chimed in: "Yeah, yeah, we must find the person who's spreading these rumors and make them apologize to Claudia."
Some even comforted Claudia: "Claudia, don't be angry, I'll talk to them later, anyone who spreads rumors, I won't let them off the hook."
The female classmates' attitudes towards Claudia took a 180-degree turn, and suddenly she went from being the subject of ridicule to the target of fawning, even the way they addressed her changed.
