By the time the two of them were done being affectionate downstairs, Esmee Perry was the first to protest, "Daddy, Aunt Carol, if you don't come down soon, I'm going to starve to death."
Claudia Ross was so embarrassed she wished the ground would swallow her up and said awkwardly, "Why didn't you start eating without us? You didn't have to wait."
Esmee Perry pouted her small mouth and said, "Grandma says that the New Year's dinner has to be eaten together by the whole family to be called a New Year's meal. Oh, and Grandma also said, having a New Year's dinner is not important, having a little brother or sister is what's important."
"Sorry, go wash your hands and let's eat," Claudia Ross turned and gave Wyatt Perry a glare. "It's all your fault, keeping the child hungry."
"Let's eat! Let's eat!" Esmee Perry cheered as she ran to the washroom to wash her hands.
Mrs. Perry brought the freshly reheated dishes to the table and urged them to come and sit down quickly.
