Chapter 3 - Journey's Trouble

The carriage rumbled along the unfamiliar path, its wheels creating a rhythmic melody against the uneven terrain. Ace's mind swirled with anticipation and uncertainty as he contemplated the destiny that awaited him. Beside him, his father's enigmatic presence lingered, casting shadows on the unspoken secrets veiled in their shared lineage. As dawn painted the sky with hues of promise, Ace felt the weight of a new identity settling upon him, the name "Ace Deca Treeton" echoing in his thoughts like a prelude to a destiny entwined with magic and mystery. The thought of being called by a different name then is real one. It angered him.

"Infact," The Driver snorted, "Call yourself Deca Treeton. Your a commoner when you go to the academy."

The Driver snorted and laughed. Deca held back his anger, he clenched his fist tightly and them released his energy softly. "It would be bad if this carriage broke." Deca thought to himself, he had an unfiltered thought. There was a burning rage inside of him that he could bearly contain, the driver felt an ominous presence. Deca let out his breath, the ominous aura vanished.

As the carriage continued its smooth journey, Deca focused on harnessing his inner turmoil into controlled energy. The rhythmic cadence of his breath synced with the carriage's motion, and the ominous aura dissipated like morning mist. Unbeknownst to Deca, the tranquility was about to be shattered. Suddenly, a primal roar echoed through the dense woods, and a monstrous creature lunged at the carriage, teeth gnashing and claws slashing through the air. The once serene atmosphere now crackled with the energy of impending chaos.

The Creature loomed over the vehicle, the driver's hands tightened on the reins, knuckles turning pale as they glanced anxiously at the looming shadows ahead, a bead of sweat trickling down their forehead. Driver's voice quivering, they turn to Deca, "Deca, I'll face that monster head-on. Stay low, and when I give the signal, make a run for safety. Trust me, I've got this." The driver swiftly dismounted, casting a determined look at Deca. Without a word, he sprinted into the looming darkness, leaving the carriage behind, the echoes of their footsteps fading into the night.

Deca let out a sigh. "I expected more from a driver like him." Disappointment etched across his face, Deca stepped out of the carriage with a confident look but, boredom lingered in his gaze as he glanced up at the towering monster, curiosity replacing his initial dismay. Annoyance flickering in his eyes, Deca scowled at the monster that eyed him with hunger. "You're not getting a free meal," he muttered defiantly, ready to face the looming threat head-on.

In the blink of an eye, the monstrous creature lunged at Deca. As the creature opened it's mouth, "End," uttered Deca with unwavering resolve. In that precise moment, the creature convulsed, its monstrous form shuddering before collapsing to the ground, defeated. Silence settled, marking the end of the perilous encounter.

"This is gonna be a long Journey.." Deca mumbled to himself as he moved towards his destination.
