At the prestigious four walls of the imperial academy, a place where all prospective mages attend to hone their magical skills and go forward on their path.
Bustling with students and teachers alike, the present day was a Wednesday, one of the days picked for club activities, which was Wednesdays and Fridays.
The clubs and activities were there for the students to deepen their knowledge and understand the different aspects of magic, engaging in things that could push the boundaries of their abilities as they participate and forge their paths in the realm of Soraxia.
At class A, after getting familiar with his classmates, Paul decided that it was best to have lackeys than friends, calling them his 'faction' which felt childish to the others. Anya and Sarah also made 'friends' but they didn't seem like friends, more like followers, as they were nothing but a group of yes-men or yes-women in this case.
Zahad and Marcus did not bother with getting directly acquainted with anyone, as their only major concern was on how to grow stronger. Due to the shared interest and common goals they became quite friendly with one another and even sparred against each other regularly.
At this moment, they walked side by side, engaged in a conversation. Zahad and Marcus picked the same club: the magical duelling club it was one amongst the seven known clubs in the academy. They focused helping students in the learning and mastery of magical arts, particularly in the area of combat, focusing on both defensive and offensive spells. It was not just a place for fighting as members also had to study different strategies from famous duels and wars from the history of their kingdom. They also hold yearly tournaments to determine the leader of their club
Anya and Sarah picked the divine healers club, a club that was mostly concerned with various ways of improving healing spells and understanding the various methods of healing any and all living beings. The club was restricted to only water and light mages. No other form of magic was compatible with healing apart from those two. There was also a dark side to the club that was known only to the deep rooted members, their focus may be on healthcare but improving health wasn't the only thing they could do.
There was also the alchemy and herbology society, a society that could be said to be a variation of the divine healers club, but their means also varied as they explored others means of healing such as potion making, herbology. Studying the magical properties of plants and how they could be applied while using spells. The members sought ways to brew potions not only for healing but for mana regeneration, poisons amongst others. They also compete among themselves, showcasing their most innovative and potent potions, judge based on their effectiveness and degree of purity.
There is also the beast taming group who are known for studying, interacting and taking care of various magical creatures. The students are taught how tame and train the magical beasts. The location of this group is at a particular sanctuary within the academy grounds where the members learn to train and understand the various breeds of magical beasts. The training of these magical beasts, is not only for knowledge but for the students who want to command and work alongside their magical creatures to the battlefield.
The elemental research and mystery seekers are an organized group of mages that seek to merge and manipulate the rules of magic. They concentrate on combining the technological equipments of the knolls with the magical knowledge of the empire. Leaning towards the advanced applications of magic and exploiting the weaponry of the knolls. Currently there has been no notable achievements on their ends as the technology of the knolls is deemed as complex leading to a decline in the population of the club.
The enchantment and forgery collective is a club whose purpose is to forge and enchant equipments using magical energy. The energy is performing using the ancient arts of runes. Where symbols and glyphs are used in channeling and storing magical energy for various purposes. The members craft runes and study the runic texts in order to enchant and forge magical items. Thereby creating enchanted tools and artifacts that serve diverse uses. The academy walls are also reinforced by runic inscriptions that safeguard the school from any unexpected threats.
The last club which is also known to possess the most stringent requirements and rules while also having the lowest number of participants in academy is the dark cabal. A group that dwells on the intricacies and explores the hidden parts of dark magic. Dark magic, even though it is seen as part of the seven elements is considered unique in it's own right as it is a complete opposite of light magic, the most powerful magic in the kingdom. Yet it still wasn't considered weak, more like it couldn't be considered weak it was dangerous in the hands of a capable mage. And unlike the light spells which were well known, dark magic was enshrouded in mystery that was yet to be unraveled. As dark mages hardly join the imperial academy leading to less knowledge on the matter, it felt imperative to establish such a club. That would shed more light on the hidden parts of dark magic, particularly the myth of necromancy.
Coming out of the office of the disciplinary committee with a tired expression was Benjamin. He had just received a warning from the administrators on his actions over the past few days and if he didn't tone it down completely he might as well forfeit his admission.
'Standing in front of the disciplinary board with their intense gazes bearing down was too uncomfortable, I just have to make sure I don't get caught next time.' Benjamin did not plan to put an end to the mischief thinking of more discreet ways to do it.
"So which club should I go to?" Benjamin mused to himself as he strolled off.

At another notable institute where learning and research was commonplace. A pair were involved in an argument.
"Your reason doesn't make sense I'm putting it in." The first individual argued trying to proceed with their actions.
"Hold it!" The second figure exclaimed.
"???" A look that seemed to question the second figure was casted on them.
"Don't put it in yet!"
"Why not?"
"We have never tried this before for good reason so..." The second figure spoke with a tinge of caution.
"So because of that we can't try it now, if we don't know what will happen then that's more of a reason why we should do it!"
"No!"
Boom!
An explosion occurred, the blast flung the first individual to the other side of the lab as he knocked over some equipments and got buried by the rest.
The second figure was unharmed as he moved relatively far from the area before the concoction took effect.
"Haa! I told you." The second figure whose name was Quentin spoke to the one piled under a rubble.
A large wolf ran towards the individual piled under the rubble and started to dig him out. As the figure emerged he was relatively unharmed but his face and attire were blackened possibly from the mild explosion that occurred.
This individual was none other than Oscar Lane, who was now a student at the medical institute carrying out his own research.
His wolf, Zeia who had grown almost twice her size since then now almost taller than Oscar, she walked towards him, hints of concern were in her eyes as she tried to sense if he was okay. He signalled to her that he was fine but she still stood beside him still concerned.
This was the third time this week that he got blasted away by playing with those strange colourful things she always saw him with. To her they were dangerous and she couldn't understand why Oscar kept playing with them even though they didn't like him. She had always wanted to stay close to Oscar to protect him but he never agreed, making sure she stayed a sufficient distance away from him while he acted and picking him off the ground when he was thrown away or in this case, digging him out of buried equipments.
She could never understand why he did it but the delighted expression he has on his face sometimes showed that he enjoyed it.
"Are you mad? Don't you understand the meaning of the word hazardous?!" Quentin shouted.
"Calm down, I understand."
"No you don't, you are like a caveman coming into contact with fire for the first time. There's just no stopping you is there?"
"Okay, I know they are both considered hazardous but I'm looking for something that can produce as much heat as possible and they fit the description." Oscar spoke, trying to justify his actions.
"Don't do it again." Quentin warned.
"I won't do it.. "
'for now.' Oscar completed the sentence in his mind.
"But we are making progress aren't we?" Oscar lightly tapped Quetins shoulder as he grinned.
"Yeah, if you call risking death and getting blasted away over and over progress, then sure."
"Hmm, then what should we work on next?"
"..."
"Why are you staring at me like that?"
"??"
"Why are you running away?"
"!!"
"Hey!"
