"My lady, we need a minute of yours." a pair of twins requested her again and she nodded this time. Pleased and relieved, they sat beside her and held her hands.
"We are your cousins as you must have heard. Or you can see the similarity in our faces." if it was not clear before, they stretched their neck so that she could see their golden eyes well. It was not clear like her. And their hair was more brown than red. But Abi could notice the smaller similarities like the crook of their noses and their pointed chins.
"Uncle had always been kind to us. He had often invited us to the manor. We are still stricken with his absence. It must have been hard on you too." for a second, Abi felt guilty. She did feel pain at the death of the duke. But he was a stranger to her.Â
She could not relate to the pain they were talking about. But if she did not show it, they would doubt her and she could not take the risk.
