The fear of the unknown had always hit Abi hard. When she looked at their pale faces, she knew she had been in the dark. She must have known. The deal was too good to be true.
But if she showed them fear, she would lose. So, she held her dress tightly under the table and looked at them coldly.
"What kind of war are you talking about?" The viscount had a calm look on his face but the rest of them went player.Â
"This is not something you need to concern yourself with, my lady." The baroness assured.
"And there is not going to be any way." her manager assured her too. But there was something on the face of the viscount that warned her to not believe in them. As if a vortex was sucking her and she could not save herself.
