"Why did you not return to your family? I am sure aunt Meredith wanted you back." Abi took a calm breath and asked in a soft voice. Nora shook her head.
"They would have not let me live there. Even if Meredith is my sister and a kind woman. They have their fire burning their house. I do not want to be a burden.
And if i would have left, who would have waited for you here." she asked with a chuckle as she passed the cup of tea to Abi. oddly surprised that Abi did not ask about the strange behavior of her mother. For years she had been trying to understand it but she could not. She had thought Abi would help. But the girl did not look so intrigued.
