"You have stolen her." Dion held his sheets tightly. His brows furrowed and his back covered in sweat as the voice rang in his ears. "And you have lied to her." the voice intensified, leaving a trail of fear and guilt on his face.
His body twisted to the left but it was not enough. Nothing was enough for the voices to leave.
"You have ruined her. You have lied to her." his hands covered his ears. He tried to open his eyes and get rid of those voices when shadows came out of the dark. His eyes widened when he saw the duchess standing in front of him.
She was looking at him like she was looking at a stranger.
"Others might not know, but I know who you are. You are a traitor!" he took a step back instinctively with fear and his conscience burdening him. The look on the face of the woman burnt his heart.
"I did not. I have my reasons." but the old woman snickered at him with disgust.
