The fight had gone on for a while people punching and throwing food at each other the entire room was in chaos Ana, Bella and Jasmine pulled at each other's hair scattering the hairdo that took time to design.
As soon as Vanessa and her husband Frederick heard of the chaos in the dining area some guards were sent to break up the fight, they escorted some people out of the party while Jasmine and Ana were instructed by Vanessa to fix themselves, jasmine changed her dress into something more comfortable wearing a dull pink gown knotting her hair into a bun, while Ana changed into a raven black dress as well.
when they were done they both came out joining everyone in the party at this time the crowd were entertained by the dancers who were invited to entertain the guests the females swayed their hips as the men ogled at them like they were huge chunks of meat they wanted a bite out of. in the village of Haran being a dancer was not an honourable job they were treated no less than harlots although most of them did live in a brothel. after their performance, the whole crowd roared in applause as Mr Frederick got their attention by using a spoon to hit his silver cup of wine
" I am grateful and happy that you all honoured the invitation and came for my lovely wife's birthday party," he said with a wide smile as she came to join him smiling by his side
" I want to thank you all for coming to celebrate this lovely woman who has fulfilled her purpose as a wife...you are the best wife that anyone could ever ask for, supporting me in all I do I love you " he said now turning to the woman who was smiling widely at him the whole crowd cheering for them
" and I would like to take this opportunity to announce the upcoming wedding of my first and only son Arnold Amethyst....he will be getting married to jasmine behek madradon the daughter of chief behek madradon, the wedding will be in five days and I expect you all to attend this awesome event, chief behek thank you for entrusting your lovely daughter to us am sure she would be a great wife to my son and support him in everything he does like my Vanessa has done..." he said as behek nodded to that, Arnold hands finding its way to Jasmine's as the crowd stared at them with eyes of joy.
" on this note, we shall make a toast to my son's marriage and future with the chief's daughter, he said as everyone raised their cup and drank, she slowly pulled her hand from his hold and crossed them against her chest lost in her thoughts
" enjoy the party....some music" Arnold announced as the orchestra began to play
"Dance with me, "Arnold said stretching his hand at the same time Jayden stretched his, Jasmine stared at Jayden shocked to see him, she hadn't seen him at the party at all she had thought he got bored and gone home she smiled as she grabbed Jayden's hand leaving Arnold's hand hanging as he quickly recovered grabbing any female he saw which happened to be Ana as they both swayed to the music. Jayden wrapped his hand around Jasmine's waist as he smirked
" Miss me ?" he winked as she rolled her eyes she couldn't contain the joy she felt from seeing him
" Jayden I need help " she said as he frowned looking into her eyes
" What? Is your dress tight I can help you take it off...say upstairs" he shrugged as he winked Jasmine giggled hitting his chest, Arnold who was watching this action all along clenched his fist
"No! I need help to break off this marriage " she said with a serious face
" You can always announce that you are in love with me and kiss me...am sure after that Arnold wouldn't want to marry you "
"Now I understand why Ana doesn't like you ....you really are annoying what sort of stupid advice is that, " she said as Jayden held her fingers while she twirled in return, Arnold catching her instead and Jayden catching Ana it was a famous dance in Assyria kingdom every male in the dance floor exchanging their partners.
" I can see you finally succeeded in getting what you wanted" Arnold said holding her waist
" Pardon?" she said her face turning from joyful to sour
" I mean the dress...you didn't like blue so you ruined your dress so you could wear another, it was quite expensive "
"I do not do such petty things if I didn't want to wear it I would have just said it not spoil the dress the poor dress did nothing... It was dear Bella who ruined the dress" she said as his muscles tensed at her name
" you seem to be quite happy with...er...Mr Jayden over there" he said with a frown
"Who is he ? he seems to be quite familiar with you " she scoffed rolling her eyes as he narrowed his eyes at her, she twirled about to move to Jayden but he caught her stopping her from moving he placed his hands back on her waist holding tighter this time
" Who is Bella " she said looking straight into his emerald eyes as he winced anger written all over his face
" I asked a question you will answer me first "
" Jayden is my friend....my childhood friend and nothing more, you need not worry our relationship is pure unlike that you have with Bella," she said as he looked shocked loosening the grip he had on her waist as they both swayed
" what do you mean " he said staring into her blue eyes like he was searching for something
" I saw you in bed with Bella yesterday evening " he shut his eyes for a second before opening again
" look you are having a 'spark' with Bella and she loves you ...but I don't love you I love Jayden so let us call this wedding off," she said looking straight into his eye and trying to convince him, he stared into hers for a second before bursting into laughter getting few people's attention
" you are so humorous " he said his face void of expressions as his hands tightened she winced at the pain it had caused her
" I wasn't joking, she said almost shouting
"as you said spark, that is all it is which will eventually end... Jasmine, why do you pretend like you do not feel attracted to me hmm? Is this amusing, for you to see me run after you when you crave to be in my arms" he said as she crunched her face in disgust feeling uncomfortable, she tried to get out of his grip
" let go " she warned with a shaky voice
" you think I didn't see you that day at the festival you couldn't get your eyes off me you kept trying to get my attention " he said as she looked confused wondering what he was talking about.
she finally got away from his grip about to leave when he held her wrist stopping her from leaving pulling her to his chest she bumped into the hard surface raising her some seconds later
" don't you remember ?.... Or are you just pretending not to " he whispered in her ears causing a shiver to go down her spine she was totally uneasy now
" let go" she said now with a loud voice getting people's attention he kept holding her tightly as she struggled
" you love me and you know it "
" am sure just like I am, you are craving for the day of our wedding night to come, "he said pulling at the straps of her dress, she released herself and slapped him across the face everyone now facing them shock written all over their faces as Arnold touched his face glaring at her
" How dare you !" his voice echoed as he felt his cheeks with his palm
"Jasmine!" both Emerald and Behek said in unison
" How dare you," Jasmine said fuming as Emerald walked up to her apologizing to Arnold's parents and the crowd
" no Mother don't, this man doesn't deserve an apology he is the most disgusting man I have ever seen in my life" Emerald looked at Jasmine with confusion
" am sorry Jasmine isn't feeling alright," Emerald said begging Arnold
" no you are not the one who should apologize she should ..." he said looking at Jasmine breathing aggressively, his chest rising and falling at a fast rate.
" I will not apologize if there is anyone who should apologize that would be you "
"Really?... if you do not apologize this alliance will be over " Arnold threatened as Jasmine walked to Jayden grabbed his face and kissed him.
" I never wanted this marriage in the first place" she pulled away as she replied.
Everywhere became noisy as everyone began to murmur their faces holding the same shocked expression. Jayden stood still his face red from embarrassment avoiding her sapphire eyes
" What insolence....you depraved girl who do you think you are to hit my son " Vanessa shouted walking up to Jasmine holding her wrist tightly her husband following behind
"Shouldn't you ask me first why I would hit your son...I am not in the habit of hitting people without a reason....ask your son what he did that got him a slap" Jasmine said looking into her eyes
" I can see you do not have good home training... First, you get into a fight and now this?"
"I warned you Mrs Vanessa I told you Jasmine wasn't a good choice for your Arnold and that my Anastasia would be a better match" Parry said cutting her off as Amos her husband glared at her, parry didn't like Jasmine one bit and wasn't in support of Ana always being around her
"apologize! apologize now !" Vanessa shouted dragging Jasmine and pushing her to Arnold's feet as Behek motioned towards Jasmine, Emerald stopping him with her hands
" I did nothing wrong !...."
" I can see your parents made a poor effort in bringing you up, what could Arnold do that made you hit him! ...you are betrothed to another yet pursuing someone else how disgusting, you even dared to showcase your shamelessness in front of everyone....you shameless girl!"
" What is this chief ....what sort of display is this hmmm" Frederick said with a frown as the chief walked up to Arnold
" am sorry for this immature display of my daughter ...." Chief said joining his hands together pleading
"Father do not beg, this disgusting man is having an affair Father he..."
" wow, you are the one after a man while you are betrothed to my son and you have the guts to accuse my son? is this what was taught by your parents does your mother go after other men ?"
" enough! I admit that my daughter has made a mistake but I will not stand here and let you question her upbringing or my wife's loyalty to me alright!" the chief said fuming
" I assure you Miss Vanessa I was trained quite well my parents have trained me in such a way that I can survive on my own even when they are no longer with me and defend myself if the need arises...you should know that the depraved person here is your son, not me and parents are not solely responsible for their children's mistakes.....is it save to say that you also go after other men since your son can't stay with one woman?" She said as Vanessa shot her eyes wide open at her
"Jasmine! you will address my mother with respect! ...." he shouted glaring at her his face red from anger
" my mother and entire family deserve respect as well" she replied in the same tone
"I have heard enough, Jasmine if you didn't want to marry me you should have just informed me not form stories to get our marriage called off ...I want you and your family to leave this party at once or else," he said frowning his eyes filled with rage, she scoffed in reply
" Are you asking us to leave you are kicking us out?" the chief shouted furious as emerald eyes became teary
" you all should leave before I make the guards escort you ....leave while I am still respectful, "he said, emerald rushed to Vanessa pleading with her
" guards! get this woman and her family out of here ....we want nothing to do with her or her daughter ....we don't want such a depraved girl as my daughter-in-law "Vanessa shouted as the guards came about to touch the chief his stare stopping them
"We can walk out ourselves !" behek shouted as he led his family out
"No! chief do something we can not let this marriage be called off like this "Emerald cried urging him to do something.
" no please chief don't let this happen do something behek! you can't let this alliance be broken this way behek!" she screamed pleading not moving from where she stood
"Emerald let it be ....come on we have to leave now " he said as he walked up to her holding her as she wept following him.
Avery had offered his cart to transport them home since it was Arnold's cart that brought them and hence would not offer to transport them back. the ride was a suffocating one emerald kept crying her husband consoling her, Tatiana was awfully quiet, while Jasmine kept looking out the cart watching the verse vegetations they passed by, they finally got back home no one attempting to say a word.
"Father I..."
" it has been a long ride you should rest " he said cutting her off as she walked to her mother holding her arm
"Mother..." Jasmine was cut off by a slap across her face as Emerald pushed her hands away, her red eyes looking straight into Jasmine's blue ones
"You must be happy ...you are satisfied now right ?! The marriage was called off, just so you could get the marriage called off you embarrassed your entire family Jasmine!" she shouted tears rolling down her eyes as Jasmine became teary
"no... I..." she said shaking her head.
" formed a story about Arnold having an affair just so you don't have to marry him?" Emerald said with a frown jasmine motioned towards her as Emerald held up her hand stopping her, emerald dashed out of the room
"Father...surely you do not believe that I would form a story... Father Arnold is a disgusting man his having an affair with Bella daughter of Lieutenant Topaz Marius and he had no plans of stopping his little affair even after we were married" she said sobbing
" I used to be so proud to call you my daughter ...I thought you grew up just well, you managed to bring disgrace to the madradon name... for the first time, the chief was asked to leave a celebration... Jasmine, you have lost all the trust I had in you" he said with teary eyes leaving the room as well Tatiana following behind, jasmine cried as she ran out of the house she kept running until she was out of breath dropping on the ground weeping, All her life she had looked u to her father and was proud of herself because of how high her father held her but in one night all that was ruined he was disappointed in her.
the sun had begun to set the day growing old and the sky turning dark. She stared at the bright moon her face void of expressions, her eyes swollen from crying for hours and her mind void of thoughts the voices of men caught her attention as she went to check what the noise was about she hid behind the bushes watching some men who had made a campfire as they all surrounded it drinking and laughing a flag catching her attention it was a blue flag which had the design of a gemstone in the middle and a fowl just beside it she wondered the kingdom the flag belonged to as she knew Assyria's flag was a combination of red with a dragon in its middle it was the same as the flag of the chamdragon empire since it was under it.
she decided to just ignore them since they might just be travellers from other neighbouring kingdoms who decided to camp here for the night.
"have the message been sent to the chief ...." a man said taking Jasmine's attention again
"yes sir we have delivered the message to the chief and the recent occurrence in the village should aggravate him into action" another man replied.
Jasmine went home greeted by the worried faces of everyone her presence bringing relief to their faces as emerald left as soon as she saw Jasmine her father following behind.
"Father and Mother are furious with you, " Tatiana said breaking the silence, Jasmine planted a small smile
" if you wanted to stop the marriage then you should have just involved me i would have found a better way to get it called off " she said as she rolled her eyes
"you do believe me right .."
" well yes I do my sister is quite intelligent I know you wouldn't do something like that without a reason " Tatiana shrugged
"Don't worry soon they won't be angry anymore. Also, you look ugly when you're sad so smile " she added rolling her eyes as she went to her room.
