-Chapter 134-

-20th day of the 9th moon of the year 299 AC-

'How can I win against my nephew?' was the question I couldn't stop asking myself since I lost control of Slave Bay.

'He has more dragons than me, he has more soldiers than me, he has more ships than me, he is stronger than me.'

'What do I have that he doesn't?' I whispered softly, hoping someone could give me the solution to this problem that seemed increasingly insoluble.

"You are Azor Ahai, nothing more, nothing less," said a voice in the fire.

"Ahhh"

I jumped, then I saw two Unsullied enter my tent, both looking for the enemy who started laughing and said:

"They cannot hear me, do not be afraid of me, please, after all, I am but your humble servant, my queen."

"Who are you? Do I know you?" I said, suspicious.

"You do not know me yet, but I am coming to lend you strong support, and by the time I arrive, you will have nothing to envy your nephew for because with me I bring reinforcements that will bring to their knees anyone daring to oppose you Azor Ahai, do not lose hope, you are the savior of our world."

Shocked, the only thing I managed to articulate was: "thank you."

"Such is my duty," replied the voice before fading in the flames.

-POV Ellaria Sand-

"Are you sure about what you're doing?" asked Obara as she watched the gate of Sunspear become smaller and smaller as our ship moved away from it.

"No, but it's the only chance I'll have in my life to avenge Oberyn," I said determinedly.

"Who says she will agree to kill her nephew for us?" asked Nymeria, annoyed.

"I have absolutely no idea, but I imagine if you two are here instead of being in the Water Gardens of your uncle with your sisters, it's because you are also convinced of the righteousness of what we are doing. Gregor Clegane killed your father, and he is dead, but the real murderer has suffered no harm and struts around his kingdom enjoying his wealth and power," I said, getting angrier as I spoke.

I took a deep breath to calm myself, and then I said, looking Obara and Nymeria in the eyes:

"If her aunt Queen Daenerys does not agree to kill him, so be it. Anyway, I don't just want to see him die, I want to burn everything he has built, I want him to regret the day he thought we were insects he could crush as he pleased, I will show him what a woman in love is willing to do to avenge her man."

"We are with you," said Oberyn's two eldest daughters.

I smiled at them sadly and thought back to my last conversation with Doran before leaving Sunspear.

-Beginning of Flashback-

"Doran, we must absolutely do something, we have suffered so many affronts from the kings sitting on the Iron Throne that it is inconceivable for us to remain silent when a member of our family..."

"My family, Ellaria, my family," Doran said, cutting me off as he gazed at the setting sun.

"Now that Oberyn is dead, you are just Ellaria Sand, and I will not let you break the fragile peace I have built."

"I loved my brother dearly, but all his life he took reckless risks, and this time, he took one too many, paying with his own life."

Doran sighed and said, looking at me determinedly this time:

"I will not go to war against the king of Westeros who controls the Narrow Sea, the Sunset Sea, the Riverlands, the Crownlands, the Stormlands, and the Iron Islands. I'm sorry, but even if it was my son who had been taken prisoner, I will not condemn Dorne to suffer the encirclement of the entire continent. So don't think that for a futile vengeance that won't bring Oberyn back, I will subject [Dorne] to countless trials and torments."

Furious at how far Doran was willing to go to keep his little power, I said: "He weakens all the Noble Houses of Westeros. Do you think this is how our people will prosper? Do you think he will not attack us if we bow down? Why would he spare you and not another?"

"Because I am the father of his Queen, I will be the grandfather of his heir, and because I know my place, unlike you."

"Go say that to Quentyn," I said, solely to hurt him.

He didn't react, so I continued: "Everyone knew he had gone, you could have stopped him, but you wanted everything. You wanted control over all the dragons by marrying Daenerys to Quentyn. Now, who knows what has become of him and what will happen to him once you and Aegon have defeated Daenerys together. In the end, you lose nothing; it will even be advantageous for you. You trade one son for another son and a grandson."

His eyes narrowed, and then he said: "You can do whatever you want with your life, Ellaria, but if I ever learn that you are plotting against my daughter, I will have you beheaded without delay."

"Is that clear?" he said, seeing that I did not respond.

The captain of his guard stepped forward, clenching his spear in a threatening manner, and then I said, suppressing all the hatred and disgust I felt for Doran: "Yes, My Prince."
