-Chapter 70-

-3rd Person POV-

"I made a lot of gold betting on the Riverlands' bastard brothers in the axe contest," Tyrion said, trying to hide the fact that he was having a hard time accepting his demotion in favor of his father.

Everyone smiled slightly as they watched the dwarf waddle with a huge purse of over 1,000 gold dragons and then sit down next to his sister, who paid him no mind.

Tyrion smiled and then said, looking at the Hand of the King brooch proudly pinned on his father's doublet, "Dear father, I think congratulations are in order."

His father nodded without showing any sign of emotion, but the dwarf's bitterness and a few glasses of wine loosened his tongue further, so he continued, "Stealing the position of Hand of the King from one's own son is such an act…"

"Lord Tyrion, I think you've had enough to drink, and it's time for you to rest," the King said, stopping any shenanigans the dwarf was preparing.

"I'm not tired," the dwarf tried to protest.

"That wasn't a question," the king said before signaling his guards to forcibly take the dwarf to his chambers.

Once the dwarf was removed, he signaled the Herald to announce the next event. The herald unrolled a paper and said, "WE NOW HAVE THE IMMENSE HONOR OF WATCHING THE CONTEST OF THE REALM'S FINEST ARCHERS, FIRST, I ASK YOU TO WELCOME THEON GREYJOY, SON OF KING BALON GREYJOY, PRINCE OF THE IRON ISLANDS AND WARD OF LORD EDDARD STARK, MATERNAL UNCLE OF HIS MAJESTY."

The announcement of Theon's arrival was like a hurricane because announcing him as the Prince of the Iron Islands was a tacit renunciation by the king of the sovereignty over the Iron Islands.

Announcing him as the son of the King and not the usurper Balon Greyjoy was implicitly recognizing their claims and abandoning his own.

Faced with the shocked looks turned towards him, the king smiled and applauded, which further disconcerted the assembly of nobles gathered specially for the event.

The herald resumed once Theon was in position to shoot and said, "I ASK YOU TO WELCOME WITH MANY APPLAUSES BALON SWANN, SECOND SON OF THE LORD OF HOUSE SWANN AND ONE OF THE FUTURE CONTENDERS FOR ONE OF THE 4 REMAINING WHITE CLOAKS."

The applause resumed louder, then the herald said, "THE NEXT CANDIDATE IS ALSO THE PRINCE OF A FOREIGN NATION, ACCLAIM THE PRINCE OF THE SUMMER ISLANDS, JALABHAR XHO."

The entry of the ebony-skinned Prince, dressed in colorful garments, pleased the crowd greatly, who welcomed him with loud cheers. He saluted the crowd for a few moments before lining up beside the other participants.

"AND NOW, PLEASE CHEER FOR THE LAST PARTICIPANT BUT UNDOUBTEDLY THE MOST TALENTED, WINNER OF THE ARCHERY CONTEST AT THE HAND'S TOURNAMENT, I SPEAK OF COURSE OF ANGUY THE DORNISH."

-Cersei POV-

"I don't really see what he finds in him," I said, watching the Dornish archer who clearly loved all the attention.

"There are really only the Lannisters to complain during festivities organized by the king," Oberyn said, smirking mischievously.

"The Lannisters are the main reason you can sit here in peace. We are the only reliable allies of His Majesty Aegon VI, and it will remain so as long as my lineage rules Casterly Rock." said my father.

"Does that include bastards or not?" he asked.

I was about to speak when suddenly the king said, "In fact, it's a good thing you brought that up, Prince Oberyn, because I had some things to announce, so I'm taking advantage of your little verbal joust to tell you that I plan to rebuild Summerhall and assign it to Aegon."

I frowned because I didn't think he would be foolish enough to insult his legitimately born half-brother bastard in front of everyone, and then he turned to me and said:

"As for you, Lady Cersei, I hereby legitimize all your children as the lawful sons and daughters of House Lannister."

I contained my joy and simply looked at the Dornians with a triumphant gaze because I knew Summerhall was just a consolation prize while my sons could rule Casterly Rock and the Westerlands, the richest and most powerful territory of the Seven Kingdoms.
