Chapter 1 - Aegon Snow - Prologue

AEGON SNOW

PROLOGUE

 ---

Like every morning for the past 14 years, I wake up in the skin of the little bastard of Winterfell, Jon Snow.

14 years since I died, and I still don't feel at my place, but living the life of an orphan-prince-supposed-to-be-king-who-is-just-a-bastard doesn't really help.

When I arrived in this world, I rejoiced at the new start, that I had a second chance, a way to rewrite history, but nothing, nothing went as planned; I had no system, and the mental torture of these past 14 years was... hard.

As a reborn adult, one might easily believe that the bullying, the insults, the dirty tricks, and the rest would be beneath us, that we would find the weaknesses, sweet-talk that bitch Lady Stark who prayed for my death, and others, but it was the worst thing that happened to me in two lives.

Endure, endure, endure, and always endure without flinching, that's all I could do, I didn't have the right to respond, I didn't have the right to hit back, I didn't have the right to be considered, only to endure and hit a wooden dummy to relieve my frustration.

Although externally I resembled the original Jon, austere, silent, and calm, internally I was the exact opposite, I was resentful, angry, and very proud, for a long time I resigned myself to follow the path of the old Jon, but that was without counting on my really prodigious luck.

At the age of 5, when no one really paid attention to me, I had an encounter, THE encounter, I met... a book.

Hahaha no actually I stumbled upon a book during my daily reading time, a book of ancient magic that I didn't really understand, but it really fascinated me, and I started my plan to learn magic.

I had the Stark and Targaryen lineage, I was a reincarnated person, if I couldn't use magic then no one else could.

For a long time, I searched the Winterfell library for blood magic and rituals, but I never found anything really effective and instructive, so I started learning with Maester Luwin, who laughed once he noticed my interest in magic, he explained that although he was happy to see my enthusiasm and curiosity for the higher arts, I would probably only find disappointment on this path because if it had perhaps existed, it had been a long time since magic was nothing more than fables and tales for children.

Although he helped me a lot, he didn't take me seriously, I understood that no one would help me, so I continued to read alone and do research, I tried everything but nothing worked, so I tried to become a Maester.

I know, I know... MAESTER, there you're probably thinking "dude you went to Westeros and you seriously want to become a MAESTER?"

So yes, I'm serious, I went to the Citadel at the age of 12, I didn't ask anyone for anything, and I didn't want to ask anyone for anything, I don't know if I've already said it, but during my rebirth, I acquired eidetic memory, what is eidetic memory, it's a memory that allows me to never forget anything.

My incredible memory had an exceptional effect on my learning because I learned in one year what some learn in 10 or even 30 years, I only needed to read once and poof it was done, the speed of comprehension of my reading plus eidetic memory was almost like cheating, why almost? ...because I'm in Westeros.

After two years in this mouse hole, I made important discoveries, first, magic is not a myth because I practice it, second, magic sucks, third, rituals are cheat codes.

When I entered the Citadel, I thought that magic would be an extremely guarded practice, but actually not at all, everything is explained with a lot of detail, from the practices of necromancer mages to mages practicing blood magic, I was really shocked by my discoveries after more than a year studying all these forms of magic, I started to practice it slowly, and guess what... it works.

Although I am a rather talented mage, if I believe the writings of my predecessors, it wasn't enough, I only managed to learn a few fire and healing spells using blood, so I simply decided to stop using magic as written with long spells in different weird and ancient languages that I only half understood and I tried to feel the feeling I had in me when I activated my mana.

For a few weeks, apart from eating and training with my two swords, I did nothing but try to find that light in me, nothing more, nothing less, I persisted for a long time on this path and finally, after a full month, I felt the indescribable feeling that swelled my heart with joy, seeing that my practice was paying off, I started using meditation every day, and a week later, I was able to "activate" this power as I wished.

I was a man of science, and as I always say, "Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited, whereas imagination encompasses the entire world, stimulates progress, and prompts evolution"....No, I'm kidding, actually, it was from that good old Albert Einstein, a key figure of the 20th century from my old world.

After succeeding, I tested something we all dream of doing at least once in our lives... telekinesis, I placed a feather on the table and tried to lift it by flowing my mana and trying to REALLY see the feather levitate, and bingo, it worked again, I tested all sorts of things, but I noticed that complex spells didn't work, or not yet.

In addition to telekinesis, I could light a candle, create small flames at the tips of my fingers, but nothing really OP.

After a year of reinforcement, I must say that I had really changed completely, I could create several fireballs about 1 meter in diameter, I could lift the equivalent weight of a person non-stop for half an hour, and I could now close the wounds of a person so they wouldn't bleed to death, and yes, internal and external wounds, I say this because during my first trials on unconscious patients, they died, and autopsies confirmed that the patient had had an internal hemorrhage.

I forged many links in the Citadel, but I fled after finishing forging my Valyrian steel link and before taking vows, why, well, because I didn't want to be a Maester and stay a virgin in this life when I could become King and create a Harem.... fuck you Maesters hahahaha.
