"Won't the demons enter?" Alec asked his father as they drove into the City of Kattegat.
"There's a spell here, it stops most of them from entering. But the powerful ones can get in. There are demons in the city itself. Don't bother with them, most of them are hiding since a powerful exorcist is residing in the city." Ammon replied.
Alec nodded and drove along the street. Even though this was his first time, he was still able to easily maneuver through the city. Besides, the Cathedral was straight ahead.
A few of the demons chased after them into the city, but they reduced their speed after sensing the presence of the powerful exorcists in the area. Of all the exorcists in this city, only one of them was stronger than Ammon, but there were two who should be on his level and a few more who were weaker.
Alec soon drove to the Cathedral and when they saw the state of Deacon Ammon, they rushed him inside the Cathedral.
"Where is Knight Clermont?" Ammon asked as he entered the Cathedral.
"He's inside."
One of the priests who assisted him replied.
"Take us to him." Ammon urged.
"You're wounded, we should take care of your wounds first." One of the priests said.
"There are more important things than my injuries." Ammon didn't have the time to argue with them and started to move in the direction Knight Clermont was resting.
As they were heading in that direction, they saw a young man dressed in light silver armor walking in their direction, he had a large broadsword with him. This young man looked to be around twenty-five and his short golden hair and eyes were captivating.
He looked at Deacon Ammon, but he soon turned his gaze to Alec, looking at him for a long time.
"We have a problem." Deacon Ammon said.
"I know. There's a sudden unrest in the city." The young man said.
"Clermont, there's something I need to discuss with you." Ammon said.
"It will have to wait. We have to set up a spell around the Cathedral, they seem to be preparing to attack." The young man referred to as Clermont said and turned to one of the priests, "Activate the spell. It should give us enough time to prepare for their arrival."
"Get holy water. And bring out a few of the weapons." He turned to another priest and ordered.
Alec watched all this from the side, stunned at the sudden direction of things. He had always thought Cathedrals were holy places, but now, they seemed to be preparing to go to war.
"Dad, are the demons going to attack?" He whispered to his father.
"So it seems." Ammon replied.
Alec dropped his head and stopped talking. For some reason, he felt he was the reason this was happening. He didn't know why he had such feelings, but for some reason, he was sure he was the reason they were being attacked.
Their bus being toppled, he knew he was also the reason.
'Why?'
He asked the question multiple times but he couldn't get an answer. There was something that was making these things chase after him, but he didn't know why.
'Could something be wrong with me? Am I truly the devil's spawn? Impossible! It's just a casual saying.'
His mind was racing, but he didn't speak and waited patiently.
Before they knew it, it was already dark.
"They're coming."
Clermont said while staring out the window of the Cathedral.
Outside the Cathedral, a transparent shield appeared when some small flying demons started to come close to the Cathedral.
They tried to attack it, but they were repealed by the shield. They didn't stop as they continued hammering on the shield.
Normal humans couldn't see this shield, nor could they see the demons attacking it.
The demons attacked relentlessly, one after the other they attacked and the shield started to show signs of crumbling. Its brilliant light started to lose color and fade. Once it completely fades, the shield will fall apart and the demons would be able to break into the Cathedral.
Alec walked close to one of the windows, and when he saw the demons, he felt fear grip him. They were more than he expected.
"Dad, will we survive this?" He asked his father.
Ammon placed his hand on Alec's shoulder and said, "Don't worry son, you will be fine."
Alec looked at his father, and then his gaze turned to Knight Clermont.
Before long, the shield fell apart and the demons rushed into the Cathedral.
A large bus drove through the gates of the Cathedral and headed straight for the door of the Cathedral. The demons wanted to force their way into the Cathedral, and with this tactic, they would most likely succeed.
When the bus hit the door, it easily broke it and drove into the Cathedral, driving into a wall, causing further destruction to the place.
Clermont held his sword in his hand and said to the priests, "Don't let them do as they please."
He looked at Ammon and said, "Protect your son."
