A Faded black appears, shadows that seem to creep on a little girl's back
"What are they?" she whispered. A shout coming from the background.
The little girl slowly opens her eyes. "Se réveiller,Se réveiller, don't you hear me stupid girl?". The girl awakens to a loud drilling noise as she realizes she fell asleep in a construction site. She sees a tall chubby man in a suit, looking at her in utter disgust. You think you sleep on the job? said the man with an angry look on his face he pulled her arm and dragged her in a black car.
The little girl knew what her job was cleaning and sweeping the floors and rooms of the brothel, other children were there too, sold by scum men who participated in human slave trade in the under city of Ville des larmes. The little girl had short brown hair also dark blue eyes and a baggy tattered gray dress she had to patch it a few times. The girl had no emotions and no expression on her face. She was an orphan and sold to the under-city.
A dirty old car pulled to a stop, one of the chubby man's goons pulled her out of the car as he handled her roughly, she could the pain of man's grip on her little arm.
The brothel was small but it was famous because of the pretty women. The brothel attracted poor men and rich men to the delicacy of fine wine and good food service. The goons pulled her into the brothel as they go down a dark hallway and throw her in the room where cleaning supplies is kept. It's a small room with only a tiny window, the floor is cold and dusty.
"Move aside, garçons" as the tall man locks her in. "This is what you get for leaving, stupid girl, oh and don't think you're getting fed today" said the man in an angry tone. As she hears the men walk away she puts her head into her arms and sleeps again, that's all she wants to do right now, she thinks. She hears a faint sound come from the other side of the door, she puts her head up and sniffs."Pain frais?" said the little girl in a whispered tone.
As she hears a familiar little boy's soft tone come from the door. "Are you hungry? Mon ami, Why did you leave? Are you hurt?" said the little boy in a worried tone. "I guess I'm fine," said the little girl. He was her only friend and a person in her life that worries a lot when she gets hurt. "That's good, I brought some pain frais, I know that horrible man won't feed you so I stole it from the kitchen" said the boy. He pushed it under a big crack under the door. The little girl ate it with glee and "Merci", she said in a whispered tone.
"I'll come back later on and bring more pain frais" said the little boy. As the little boy walked away. She finished the bread and put her head down on the ground and slept.Sometimes she had good dreams, sometimes bad, the good dreams were of her mother and the happy moments they had before she passed. Her mother was an optimistic person and a stubborn woman.
she kept a necklace her mother had given her. She held it tight every time she got beat by one of the prostitutes .
Her mother had died from an unknown cause. The little girl is also in a state of abuse whether it be emotional or physical. She didn't have the knowledge to run or to be on her own in this world of darkness and she didn't have anyone but her "Mon ami".
