"Where are you going, Gray?" my father asked immediately as I stepped into the living room.
I raised my brow slightly. "Is there a problem?"
"Well, I just wanted to know what you're up to, son."
"You know, it seems as though you're hiding something from me."
"I'm not hiding anything from you, son. I'm just worried," he said, taking off his glasses and placing them beside a stool. "You don't really trust that lady, do you?"
"You know what, I've made up my mind. I'm going to Upperville."
"Gray!"
"What is it, father? Why are you so against me?" I snapped, clearly irritated. I was aware that he saved me five years ago and wasn't obviously my birth father. That means Isabella might actually be telling the truth.
"After everything I've done for you."
"And I'm grateful for that, father. But you can't keep me in the dark forever. I want to know what happened." I drew a deep breath before walking out of the mansion.
