"So tell me, Isabella, what happened? Why did you decide to be stupid, tonight of all nights?" he asked calmly, folding his sleeves.
"I...I..." I stuttered, not even sure how to answer the question.
"Do you want another slap?" he raised his brow at me.
"No, sir," I shook my head vigorously, rubbing my cheek.
"Then start talking."
"I...just...I wanted your attention, sir," I choked out, unable to keep my tears at bay anymore. "I wanted to know and see...if you care about me anymore."
His forehead crumpled in a frown. "All this was to get my attention?" His voice was hard, making my fingers tremble. "You did this on purpose to rile me up. Is that what you're fucking saying right now, Isabella?"
"I...had no other choice," I cried. "You wouldn't even glance my way."
"And that made you leave our son at home and go to a club dressed like this!"
