After everyone got their apologies out of the way, we went on to the rest of the day.
We walked into the library after that, and Mom had me sit down at the desk and began giving lessons about the world again. Compared to the last few days, I was noticeably learning this faster than last time, thanks to finding the errors in the ways I was trying to learn things. Mom also caught onto this, so she increased the speed at which we were going through the information. It was not like I would be finishing the lessons any time soon, but we did manage to most likely cut down the time from one year to about two months.
There was a lot that I needed to learn.
This also made the time fly by faster than either of us was paying attention to until Yuki walked in with a tray of food.
That made Mom pause in her lesson on history, which was absolutely boring, and decide it was time for a break. However, it seemed like that was not meant to be, as Mom chose to turn this into a lesson on proper etiquette instead.
I was not sure why I had to learn this, but it was something I was being taught, so I took the time to listen to what she was teaching me again.
It did not end with the food, though, as the meal was already over, and I was now being taught the proper way for a noble lady to sit. The problem with that is that I am not a noble lady so I did not see any reason as to why I am learning that.
I even tried to ask Mom about that, but all I got in response was a guilty smile and a glint of pity in her eyes as she said it would come in handy in the future. That was not something I liked to hear, especially after reading some of those romance-light novels, which I always felt slightly guilty about reading. Well, that was in the beginning. Later, I felt like some form of romance or character progression was necessary for a good story.
Ah, how a person's tastes change.
Anyway, the etiquette lessons were not actually that bad. Most of it was simple stuff like posture and how to hold certain things, with only a few points on how to present yourself at social events.
This made me feel like everything I heard about this was wrong until Mom said that this should cover the very basics and that we would only cover the rest after we finished all the other lessons.
From there, we took a small break before returning to the original lesson, which lasted until the sun met the horizon.
Mom decided that this was a good stopping point for our lessons, and we finally moved on to my training.
Walking out of the library to begin our training, Lou Xia spoke up from the side and said, "I should probably head back home, but would it be fine if I came back tomorrow?"
I was not sure if I wanted to let her come back after what happened yesterday and this morning. However, before I could say anything, Mom responded, "You can come over anytime after breakfast. You know where we will be."
I was not sure how to feel after hearing that, but it seemed like it shocked Lou Xia based off of the look on her face. She then smiled slightly and thanked us for letting her stay over before leaving.
After leaving, my mom then handed me a bow and made some targets float in the air, taking my mind off of Lou Xia.
From there, we started training and I focused on fixing all the errors I was making. This was easier than I was used to, but I was also letting my traits take over at the moment.
After half an hour, a system window appeared in my vision.
{Marksmanship has reached 100: You have become a Master Marksman}
This notification brought me out of my intense focus and back to the reality around me and the notification itself. After reading it, I was very excited and unintentionally shouted out, "I did it!"
This got both the attention of Mom and Yuki, who were standing at the side watching me. Mom then asked me, "What did you manage to do?"
I was a little too excited to lower my voice and replied somewhat loudly, "I am close to finishing another one of my quests, and I have also reached mastery of marksmanship! Now, that does not mean I have begun to comprehend a dao or something, but it does mean that I have reached the limit of what mortal knowledge allows for at the moment."
The two of them looked shocked for a moment before Mom smiled and said, "I will get the sherbert then." She then turned around and walked into the house.
Hearing that, I threw my hands into the air and shouted for joy while Yuki managed to return from wherever her consciousness had gone. She continued to look in my direction in shock for a few more moments before turning around and following Mom.
I did not wait any longer and followed the both of them inside as well.
Yuki had already finished dinner and it was sitting on the table currently covered. Mom was not sitting at the table at the moment, but she soon walked out of the kitchen and sat down at the head of the table. We then started the meal after Yuki uncovered the food and quickly ate everything. Mom then brought out the sherbert from her spatial storage device, and we all had dessert.
After this, I went and found a brush from Mom's room and returned to the living room that Mom should be in by now.
This got a couple of confused looks from the two people in the room. I did not care about that much as I forced the brush into Mom's hands before crawling onto her lap.
That apparently sent a clear enough message as Mom started to brush my tails thoroughly.
This lasted for about an hour, after which I got up and said good night to both of them and went to the shrine to cultivate.
Nothing happened that night, and when morning came, I got up and went back to the house.
Soon, breakfast was eaten, and Lou Xia showed up, making today feel like a repeat of the day before without the hostility mixed in.
This then started a routine that lasted for the next five days.
