Chapter 101 - Ch-35-Trouble Comes

After Mom asked her question and pulled me back to reality, she did the same thing by dragging me through the door to the house.

She then pulled me to the exit door of the courtyard leading to the shrine when I heard a sound at the front gate. Turning my head in that direction, I felt a tug on my arm towards the door as Mom almost pulled me off my feet. She then said, "Don't worry about that. We can deal with it later. First, let's go see the present that I made for you."

With that, she dragged me into the gardens surrounding the shrine and toward the workshop on the other end. It was then that I heard a faint banging sound from the gate of the living quarters and wanted to go back and check, but I was not to break free from being dragged into the workshop.

I thought that she would stop dragging me after we entered the building, but I was wrong as she kept pulling me all the way to the garage where the finished project was waiting.

Entering the room, the first thing that caught my eye was a crisp and clean-looking silver and black springer motorcycle in the center of one of the bays with the occasional sweeping blue glow of runic lines and formation covering it. Even the groves in the tires had the same blue glow.

Forgetting about everything happening outside, I rushed over to the bike and started to inspect all the different parts.

Unlike when we were putting it together, I could no longer see all the engraved runes; they instead just looked like solid, undamaged metal. Then, there was the paint that was put on the bike, something I did not even have the time to do previously.

After that were the wheels, which had clear engravings on them. Even the rubber for the tires had runes engraved on them.

I then looked over the gas tank and opened it to see all the runes on the inside which were made to pull Qi from any object stored in there and convert it into the types of Qi needed to fuel the bike.

Lastly, I used the systems inspection function to see the details about the bike. However, when I did I not only got a window displaying the information about the motorcycle, but also an unexpected unlock window.

{You have unlocked the Magitech Vehicle technology section in the Magitech tree}

{You have unlocked the Two-Wheeled Magitech Vehicle technology}

{You have unlocked the Two-Wheeled motorized Magitech Vehicle technology}

[Magitech Springer Motorcycle

Special Features:

 - Qi signature lock: Only the owner's Qi signature will be able to start the vehicle.

 - Push button start: Has an optional push-button start along with the normal Kickstarter.

 - Hard Space Drive mode: Once a specific switch is flipped, the wheels will create a hardened layer of space beneath them, allowing the Motorcycle to drive anywhere, even in the sky.]

{Due to massive external help in the creation of the vehicle, all tech unlocked by it will only be opened partially.}

{Once the host has learned more about the formations and runes powering the vehicle, the technology will be unlocked further.}

In these windows, I would normally focus on the ones about the technology unlocks, but this time, I was so excited about the motorcycle that I could not help but look at it first. Then I saw the special feature section, which had one more entry than I had planned.

Looking at it a little more closely, I noticed what it was and turned to look at Mom in shock. She only laughed in response before saying, "Why don't you try it out?"

Hearing this, I jumped at the opportunity and immediately sat down on the bike. Placing my hands on the handlebars, I followed the original plan and sent my Qi through the grips.

Almost immediately I got a reaction and felt all the formations in the bike respond to me.

With that, I opened the gas tank and placed a low-grade spirit crystal into it. After that I looked at the gas gauge and saw it went up to a quarter of a tank.

Giving a little smile, I then spun my finger in the air next to me while gathering a small amount of air attributed Qi in that space before sending it out like a bullet at one of the buttons at the side of the garage.

This was because I had added a slight detail to the building blueprint that I did not entirely think would work, but it did, and that was a garage door opener that was now powered thanks to the generator I had built. So when the button was pressed, the metal garage door in front of me began to open.

When the door was high enough to allow the motorcycle to pass underneath it, I placed my thumb on a flat part of the handlebars next to the grip and heard the engine start to crank over.

It only lasted for a split second before the engine fired and was now running.

I was about to put it in gear and crank the throttle when Mom walked up next to me and said, while pointing to a red lever cap, "This is the switch for the hard space drive mode. Once it is flipped, you just have to pull up on the handlebars, and the wheels will create hardened space to drive on, but it will also increase the speed of Qi consumption."

With that, she backed up and waved at me. I took this as enough of a signal and changed the gear while cranking back on the throttle, causing the engine to roar as the bike launched out of the garage.

Sadly, while the entire compound was built with flat ground because of the system, the ground surrounding it was not, and I had forgotten this. So when the bike launched out of the garage and onto the dirt outside, the front tire hit a large bump and sent the front end of the bike into the air.

Thankfully, this was not my first time riding a motorcycle, so I was able to correct this in time, but without any of the training that my father had given me, I would be lying on the ground with my bike laid over on the ground by now.

Stopping quickly, I looked around at the ground around me before reaching over and flipping the switch on the hard space drive and starting to move again.

I then hit another bump on the ground, throwing the front tire up in the air. However, unlike last time, the front end of the bike only dropped slightly before feeling like it hit a hard surface and continuing its ascent.

Not wanting to go far above the ground at this point, I pushed down on the handlebars, causing the front end to flatten out and allowing the bike to effectively hover above the ground.

This made the ride considerably smoother and far more enjoyable. I then started to approach the edge of the clearing, so I leaned to the side and turned the handlebars, making a swift turn to the side.

What shocked me about this was that when I leaned to the side and turned, I got far closer to the ground without falling off than I should have.

Returning back to the garage, I pulled in and stopped the bike so I could ask Mom a question when I heard a familiar male voice off to the side. Looking over, I saw that Mom was locked in an argument with the current Sect Master.

Suddenly, Mom exploded at him, saying, "I don't care whether you are the sect master or not! I am the one who founded this sect and am also the one you used to call master! I had raised you for the latter half of your childhood and even remember you asking me if you could refer to me as your mother!

"Now you are coming over here and trying to order not only my daughter, who you could even call your sister but also order me to do things without even asking about whether we want to or not! Are you really still that little boy that I raised, or are you someone else!?"

The Sect Master flinched back at this and looked away for a moment, but he looked back at her after a few moments and said, "You are the highest authority in the sect, and I thought that you would have liked to evaluate this year's outer disciples that are going the outer sect competition like you usually would.

"When It comes to Vale's issue, all disciples of the sect need to have a certain number of contribution points to stay as part of the sect. And since she was not going to the mission hall to accept the missions posted for her, I brought them here instead."

Confused by his words, I spoke up from behind him and asked, "Didn't you say that I was able to enter the sect no matter whether I passed the test or not, and what about me being a special recruitment? So if that is the case, then why do I need to gather contribution points when you are the one who wants me to stay at your sect?"
