Taffi hesitated for a while and Sania wondered why,
"He's probably thinking of lying to me," she thought,
"I hope his words are very well prepared because I already know the truth."
"Is there a problem?" She asked him.
"No, not at all," Taffi replied briskly,
"She was betrothed to me from birth, but I don't want to talk about it because whenever I think of it, I get upset." He explained.
"I apologize then," Sania mumbled, she was glad to hear the truth, and could also see that Taffi was not attracted to the lady in question at all.
"I'm not mad," he said,
"You have a right to know," he stood up immediately, and walked towards the edge of the surrounding area because of a sound he heard.
"Already?" He uttered in shock and quickly turned around.
"Is everything okay?" Sania asked briskly.
"I almost forgot that the King of Belta was coming to see me today, his chariot just arrived, we must leave now…
"We?" Sania interjected,
"Yes, we, you are Queen now, and will be involved in these matters, I'm very sorry that we have to cut the experience short, but this is urgent." He explained and stretched his hand for Sania to grab onto and stand.
Sania complied, she had never been involved in any political matters before and was somewhat excited as much as she was afraid.
"Is there anything I need to know before we get there?" She asked him.
"Just be yourself and listen, I'm very sure you'll understand the discussion if you listen." She said to her, as they both walked down the stairs.
"Alright."
They both walked hastily through the hallway because Taffi wanted to change his clothing and put on his crown as it was customary for such an official meeting. Along the way, a servant came to tell him that his guests had arrived in their chariot.
"I'm aware," he said but did not stop until he got to the bedroom.
Sania was panting heavily, she wasn't used to being rushed in that manner, and as soon as Taffi noticed, he quickly placed a kiss on her forehead and apologized,
"I'm so sorry."
"Well he was quick to steal that kiss," Sania chuckled without saying those words to his hearing.
"It's okay," she said and headed for her wardrobe to search for the best outfits for the meeting, but while she was yet to decide, Taffi was already dressing up,
"He is fast," she thought before settling with an emerald green dress with unique flower embroidery.
By the time she was done putting on her dress, Taffi was already done with everything he had to do.
"Do you need help?" He asked Sania who nodded sheepishly, admitting that she needed help with the shoes she was putting on.
"Hmm," he sighed, he had no choice but to accept the fact that he was no longer the single Taffi who didn't have to wait for anyone.
Once he was done with her slippers, he examined his wife, she looked beautiful indeed with all her jewelry on.
"You still want to apply makeup?" He was stunned as Sania opened up her makeup drawer.
"Just lightly, it won't take long, I promise," Sania answered. Taffi was shocked, to think that a few minutes ago, she wasn't interested in the meeting.
"I'll have to go, you can come to the throne room after you are done," Taffi said, balancing the crown on his head.
"No, I can't come alone," Sania protested while darkening the lash line of her eyes.
"Make it quick, please, I don't want to keep them waiting, it is custom that we are both seated in the throne room when the guests arrive."
Taffi finally understood his father's complaints about how long it took his mother to get ready, but he enjoyed the fact that Sania was interested in the meeting, so he waited, it was his fault for not remembering, or perhaps his royal adviser's fault for not reminding him.
Knowing how much time she had, Sania focused on enhancing her eyes, lips, and cheek, using a similar color on the lip as she did for the blushing cheek.
"Done, see? It didn't take too long," she exclaimed and Taffi smiled at her, never had she seen someone so excited for a meeting, especially one that was personally dreaded.
"Well I must say that you look pretty, but this is very irresponsible of us, so let's go." He took her hand as they both walked out of the room.
A guard walked behind them, along with Melissa who had to be at Sania's beck and call, and Taffi's royal adviser, Zafar.
Once they got into the throne room, the guests were already seated. Including Caesar, the King of Belta, alongside his royal advisers and his son. They were also accompanied by two guards and three members of Belta's royal council.
Taffi was somewhat ashamed of his tardiness, but he wouldn't blame himself,
"It happens," he thought.
However, what struck him, was his mother's presence, alongside Tehila, even Sania couldn't help but wonder what they were doing there because she would have insisted on staying back.
"King Taffi," Caesar stood up and so did the others. Aside from Caesar, every other member of the council including the prince of Belta bows before Taffi.
"I apologize for my tardiness, I hope I didn't keep you waiting for too long?" He apologized and sat down on the throne, while Sania occupied one of the chairs next to him, In-between his mother and Tehila.
"I would have been offended because a King is expected to take such matters seriously," Caesar answered he was a man well known for his honesty and brutality.
"However," he continued and took his seat alongside the others.
"Your mother and wife kept us company," he added, referring to Queen Lila and Tehila.
"My wife?" Taffi asked and turned to his mother for explanations.
"Oh I'm sorry," Caesar chipped in as soon as he realized that there was someone else in the room, and judging by how they held hands while walking into the room he said,
"I should be more specific, your mother and your first wife kept us company."
