Johann:
"Still filling out important papers, seemingly related to other guilds, Johann takes a small moment to rest the face of his head on the table while dropping the pen in his hand."
The paperwork is never-ending, it's hellish.
I'll never get used to this guild leader job, all this administration is inhuman, I swear.
Haaah man, I don't know how kings did it back then?
(Although I have my own idea.
I remember them delegating that to other people, except that if I start doing that now, the other guilds will just feel like they're being cheated if I share secrets information about their weak and strong points to an assistant.
It's not like I can trust anybody when I recruited so much people without being sure that there's no spy in our ranks.
Also, all it would take is for someone to whom I'd delegate the work to misinterpret some information, or for a piece of paper to be forgotten, and all the trust we've built up over time would be eroded by these kinds of mistakes.
It would certainly have been possible in a far past, but unfortunately today, most people just aren't cut out to work as hard and as seriously as I am.)
"A man enters Johann's office without knocking, opening the door quickly, saying to Johann in front of him."
????? :
Johann, it's time for the meeting.
Johann:
Finally, I've been waiting for this for so long.
"Johann raises his head before standing up and coming close to the man."
What you become, Liroy, my right-hand man?
How was your day?
"Johann gently pats Liroy's shoulder with a smile."
Liroy :
I really think all this paperwork has gone to your head, are you seriously asking me that question?
Is this really the kind of question you ask someone like me who works 12 hours a day?
Johann:
You never know, you know?
Liroy :
Boy, you've really turned into a failed humorist since you've been cooped up in this office, it's horrible, please stop.
Johann:
"Johann mimes a completely tired face this time, a face closer to what he would have shown him if he had come a little later in the day."
Please understand, I've been suffering inside for too long.
"Liroy steps forward to leave the office, followed by Johann."
Liroy :
"Exiting Johann's office, Liroy closes the door behind him."
I can see that.
"The two then go down the stairs while talking on the way, to a large room on the 10th floor, filled with employees all around talking."
"When Johann and Liroy came into the room, everyone stood up as a courtesy."
Liroy :
Please get down.
"After that, everyone sit down, as Liroy requested."
"Liroy and Johann step forward to two chairs placed in front of a large rectangular table, where all those who were present before Liroy and Johann are seated."
"They sit on it, as they usually do at every meeting, before starting the meeting as planned."
Johann:
Is everyone here?
"An employee who is more reactive than others responds to him."
Yes, everyone's here, no one's missing.
"Johann asked this because there are 20 employees, so he knew he could inadvertently start the meeting without people whose presence is required being there."
Johann:
Well, let's cut out the superfluous parts.
When will the new Vams currency be officially launched?
"The person responsible for producing the currency answers."
Within two years at most.
Of course, much will depend on the amount of silver and gold still available in the major banks.
Fortunately for us, according to our estimates, with all the taking of material that we have made from the banks, we will be able to create enough liquidity for the entire population for at least the next few decades.
Due to the drastic decrease in the number of individuals in the population.
The problem is still how to get the population to accept this new currency.
We've been talking to the guild's new Information Center about how to do this, and from what I understand, it's probably going to be the easiest part, but also the most complicated.
It's not a question of relying on blacksmiths to create money, but rather on people's opinions and perceptions of this new currency.
On probability therefore.
Johann:
That's all I needed to know.
By the way, some people weren't at the last meeting, so let me remind you what Vams is referring to.
Vams is an acronym for Vacuum Monetary System.
It's a currency I originally intended to use only to pay our guild's void wielders, to give them advantages and rewards.
Before I changed my mind and made it a national currency.
This change came because I underestimated the urgency of the lack of a base currency, as a leader I preferred to deal with the Infamous Bastards because they represent a real immediate danger.
In the end, we'll end up doing both, and as soon as we do, the workload we endure every day will drop.
"Johann was saying this thinking of the employees present in this meeting, most of whom have kept dark circles from hard work, dark circles visible to anyone."
Until that day, we'll keep fighting to win back a better future for ourselves and our family, our children or our future children for those who don't have one.
Whatever happens, we have to keep moving, even if the world wants our death with all his might, that's the spirit of Sun Hope.
Return to your workstations, we'll see you at the next meeting.
"In turn, each employee says goodbye to Johann and Liroy, in return, Johann and Liroy say goodbye to them too, each wearing a smile facing the other."
"That left Liroy and Johann."
Liroy:
Once we've killed the leader of the Infamous Bastards, it'll be easier to fight on equal terms with the leader of the North Star.
Johann:
Yeah, but who's to say he's going to let himself be done in by exposing himself, do you think it's feasible in the state?
Liroy:
"Liroy turns to Johann, looking at him."
I know you are worried.
We've only got a few leads so far, but as soon as we find out, you'll have the pleasure of killing him with your own hands if you like.
Hmpf, all these papers are preventing you from acting as you'd like, you know very well that we're going to find him, yet that's not what's really worrying you.
Johann:
"Johann bows his head, hands folded between them"
I'm convinced it's a trap.
(That's the kind of bet you like to make when you're cornered, Paolo.)
