After a while, the ship took off.
It had already been programmed to land on Black Nest Island, so there was no need for a crew.
Sitting round a small square table, the three teenagers discussed the expedition.
Well, Claire could not talk, but she still made a few contributions here and there.
"Alright...,"
Nikolah began.
"There's no discussion about who the strongest in the group is, so I'll be taking the active role in the expedition.
I will explore the Island and jot down what we need, while the both of you will in charge of guarding the ship.
I would need full focus on the exploration if we want to pass with the highest score, so the both of you need to play your part.
Understand?"
Tai shrugged nonchalantly.
"I don't mind."
Playing a passive role in the expedition would give him more time to practice his sorcery anyways.
By now, he was proficient enough to handle the connection while drawing the rune.
However, as soon as he finished the rune, the pencil would crumble instead of being absorbed into his soul as a summon.
The Monthly Assessment was already by the corner and Tai wanted to master runic sorcery and be able to summon something before then.
Claire nodded and made some weird gestures with her hands.
But neither Tai nor Nikolah could dechiper what she meant, so the dumb girl sighed silently and rubbed her temples.
Nikolah frowned slightly and then spoke.
"Then, we have to get over the 'language barrier' we have in our group."
Later, Claire and Nikolah had left, probably to find a way to make talking with the speech impaired girl easier, and Tai was left alone.
Having nothing to do while the flying ship sailed on to Black Nest Island, Tai decided to study the majestic ship for the fun of it.
The flying ship itself was a majestic work of art.
It spanned over thirty feet in length, and eighty feet in height.
It was known since ancient times, as the fastest flying ship any sorcerer had ever built, infact, it even flew itself.
Well, that was because it was created by the greatest sorcerer to have ever lived, Lord Amirax himself.
Currently, Tai was standing on it's majestic deck.
With a sigh, the red haired teenage boy went back into the ship.
The interior was just as something Amirax would build.
It was simply magnificent.
On every mantle piece, every door, and every wall, a portrait of a handsome man with a ditzy smile on his face was placed.
Tai was not used to seeing Amirax so much.
"Creepy."
Another unsettling thing though, was the scars that covered it's exterior.
Each one bearing the story of some attack by a hideous abomination that dwelled in the skies.
Some were shallow, but most were deep.
So deep that one could look through the hole created.
Looking at them made Tai shudder.
"I'd never want to meet the creature that did that."
Having nothing to do once again, Tai went over to Nikolah and Claire.
"Hey."
"Hi."
Claire simply nodded.
After a few minutes of awkward silence, the dumb girl turned to Nikki.
She made a cutting action with her hands, and then pointed over to Tai.
Nikolah raised a brow.
"You want to cut Tai?".
The hazel haired girl shook her head and made the same action again.
Nikolah frowned in thought.
"You're asking if Tai can cut?...Oh!
You're asking if Tai can use a weapon, right?"
Claire smiled and nodded.
Nikolah turned over to Tai, and smiled.
"Claire and I want to know if you can use a weapon...well, can you?"
Tai shrugged.
"I don't know, I've never used a weapon before."
Claire stared at him in shock and pointing at him, she then made a punching action with her fist and pointed to herself.
Nikolah frowned slightly.
"You want him to punch yo...oh!
You want to spar with him?"
Claire nodded.
Picking up a sword, Tai shrugged.
"Why not."
