Vance sighed deeply as the nurse entered the room, her bright smile filling the room. "Oh, save me," he mumbled under his breath.
Her cheerful demeanor was having a profound effect on him - and not in a good way. Her relentless positivity was weighing him down, making him feel even more trapped than he already did.
"I'm so happy I get to spend time alone with you," the nurse chirped, her pearly white teeth flashing as she smiled wide. She practically bounced towards Vance's bedside, the giddiness apparent in her every movement.
It would be easy to get the wrong idea from the nurse's words, and trust me, Vance did get the wrong idea. But the thing is this: the nurse was talking to the lady who he, Vance, was simply a passenger in, not Vance himself.
The nurse moved closer to the bed, sitting down at the foot of it and smiling up at the lady she was seeing.
Vance could feel his body tense up as she drew nearer, and he instinctively scooted back, trying to create some distance. But the nurse was determined, inching ever closer until they were nearly touching.
"Hah!" The nurse let out a happy sigh, as if she'd been holding her breath for a long time. "I've been working so hard and I really thought I needed a break, but that's not possible in this hospital," she said, rolling her eyes.
As the nurse spoke, Vance noticed something about her demeanor. She seemed young, almost carefree. He couldn't help but wonder if she was new to her job - a "baby nurse," as he thought to himself.
After all, he was still a 35-year-old man, despite being in the body of a woman. It was hard to shake that feeling of being an outsider, looking in. He wondered if he would ever feel at home in this new body.
The nurse continued speaking. "I was taking care of Mrs. Carol, who's a cardiac patient, when the doctor called me and said you needed someone to check on you. Because Mr. Hendrick, the man who brought you here, left…"
The nurse kept talking, her hands gesticulating wildly as she spoke. But Vance was tuning out her words, his mind wandering to other things.
His sinful eyes transfixed on the nurse's plump chest, following every move it made and as the nurse made those gestures, moving her body, it only made Vance's mouth water at the sight of her chest moving along.
Was he studying her heartbeat?
"Are you paying attention?" the nurse asked, noticing that the lady beside her hadn't said a word in a while. "Hello?" she prodded.
Meanwhile, 'Damn! Those twin peaks are gorgeous. Since she's so young, they'd probably be pinkish. Oh good lord, I want to rip her clothes off!' These thoughts were running through Vance's mind while staring at the nurse's chest.
Following the direction of the lady beside her eyes, the nurse trailed it and it landed on her chest. The lady beside her wasn't talking because she was looking at… 'my chest?' she thought.
"Ehem! Excuse me, Miss Dana," the nurse said, clearing her throat. She wanted to get the lady's attention, but was unsure how to do so without being rude.
Still, the lady, Dana, was still dazed and looking at the nurse's chest. So the nurse began to feel uncomfortable and took out her hand from her gown pocket and moved it to touch Dana's hair and capture her attention.
Gulp!
Vance whose eyes were focused on the nurse's chest saw the nurse move closer to touch him and his heart raced. "What are you doing?!" He blurted out loudly yet his voice sounded high pitched as a lady's own.
"Miss Dana, you were distracted by something," the nurse said, embarrassed to say everything as it was.
Vance on his own part made sure the nurse didn't make physical contact - things could get intensely intimate. Instead, he cleared his feminine voice and defended himself in with a white lie. "I was looking at your name in your chest tag."
"Owh," the nurse mentally slapped herself and retracted, sitting back down. "I'm Betty by name."
'She believed my lying tongue? Pfft! What a minor,' Vance thought inwardly and rolled his eyes. "Betty? What a pretty name for a pretty lovely lady," he tried to flirt with the nurse but sadly, it didn't turn out well because all his flirty words came out from the mouth of a lady - it was futile.
Betty, the nurse chuckled and instinctively smacked Dana in the leg as she laughed.
Dana's eyes bulged at the contact. Vance couldn't believe the nurse, Betty touched him first and this was what he was avoiding. His mind began thinking of all the naughty things he could do to the nurse.
Actually, he had been suffering from paraphilia for years and he dared not be with a lady alone in a room because he'd suddenly get the urge to touch her.
'Damn!' Vance thought as he swallowed. To avoid any issues, he quickly got up from the bed but not without feeling pains. "Aargh," muffling his groan, he stood.
But immediately he stood up, his legs felt wobbly, he didn't feel comfortable in a slim feet. 'Why do ladies have slim feet? Urgh!' he grumbled within.
[REMINDER: The pain will persist until you complete the first mission]
Vance rolled his eyes in exasperation. He was simply going to ignore the system.
"Where are you going?" Betty, the nurse, asked wearily as she saw Dana getting up. She also stood up immediately.
"Hmmph!" Vance sighed in Dana's voice.
"Anyway, I know some gossip you'd definitely enjoy. Every girl would," the nurse spoke, enthusiasm taking over her voice again.
'Haha, unfortunately, this one's a man,' Vance thought to himself, glaring at the pink-polished nails on the gorgeous feet below as he held up the hospital dress.
"Dorian Gray slept with a woman last night, and no one knows who she is or where she is," the nurse said, smiling widely as if she had just shared the most valuable news on earth. "Interesting gossip, isn't it?"
Vance, who heard the news, his eyes bulged in surprise, and his feminine tone turned blank. He twisted Dana's head slowly to glare at the nurse. "Did you just say Dorian Gray?"
