Vaella stood at the entrance of the cave and stared out into the early morning light, a faint, blue-colored portal split open. With a small tremor, Renzor stepped through, his face filled with reverence and hope. She took a few tentative steps towards him, the weight of the question on her mind making her movements almost stunted. A serene and almost nostalgic smile was on Renzor's face as he caught sight of her.
"So, your back?" Vaella questioned apprehensively, taking a few steps toward Renzor, who had an easy and content smile on his face.
"Ah, yes, the trails were rather challenging, but now I'm back." A wave of relief spread through Renzor's body as he said that, but there was an underlying feeling as he stared at Vaella's concerned expression. "What's wrong?" he immediately questioned, placing a hand on her shoulder. "You seem troubled. Did something happen while I was gone?"
