🪢 SLAVE TO THE ICE LORD ❄️
( melting his icy heart...)
Chapter 45❣️46
LAUREN'S POV
Calix brought me back to the palace since it was getting late. I'm feeling so sad that we had to come back, It felt so good just being there together.
He held my hand as I was about to walk back inside, Take care of yourself and just be positive. Try not to think like a princess and think more like a sister and a friend, okay?
I will, thanks Calix, I muttered and smiled and he smiled too. He turned into a fire phoenix and took off.
I stared at him till he left, my heart is fluttering, beating so fast. I've had feelings for Calix for a long time, he was the only male friend I have ever had. Life as a princess has always confined me to a small space and I couldn't move too far because of the noble standard in our kingdoms.
I don't know if he feels the same way for me but I wish it was and we could be more than friends.
AVIA'S POV
Darren took me to the library but then he pulled me towards the wall, walking ahead.
Darren there is nothing there, I mutter but then as we approached the wall, it became like an illusion.
As we walked through the wall, I was so shocked and dumbfounded. I turned back to confirm but when I touched it, it was as firm as any other wall.
How... what??? I mutter looking at Darren at intervals.
Darren walked ahead. It was then I took time to look around. It was awe inspiring!
The walls were made of crystals, tall shelves containing books and magical artifacts.
We kept walking forward and I noticed that the shelves formed a maze–like library. One could get lost if you were to venture beyond the path we walked on.
Darren stopped and looked towards me calling my attention.
Walk faster, he said and I noticed the gap between us. I quickly hurried to meet up with him.
After a while we arrived at a corner of this huge place. It looked like a reading place. A fireplace was at the end of the corner. The firewood burnt with a green flame and it seems like the wood wasn't being consumed by the fire.
There are green mahogany teakwood chairs. They were neatly arranged around an ivory table in the middle. There were a few books on the table and a cup of some liquid.
What brings you to this side of the palace your majesty, I heard a voice say out of nowhere.
I got a little startled and held Darren's robe.A lady dressed in a black cloak was just above us on the shelf. She walked down but the funny thing was that she walked down like she was walking down a staircase but there was nothing but space, Nightingale.

DEREK'S POV
I wonder why Darren and Avia went into the library. I should follow them and know what's going on. Their expressions look questionable.
As I walked in, I couldn't find any of them... Where could they have disappeared to

.
DARREN'S POV
I need your help with something important, I said.
Took you two long enough, Nightingale said with smiled before walking to one of the chairs.
Please have a seat, she said sipping on her on the contents of her cup. I sat down and Avia sat down next to me.
I need to get her recent dreams out so we can see it, just like you did for me before, I said
You know I can only bring out the ones that you have seen and can remember, she said.
She has been having some dreams and I think they are very important in explaining mine, I said and she stood up.
She brought out a bowl of blue crystal water. Come here dear, she said to Avia and I gestured her to follow through.
I just need a drop of tears from your eyes dear, she said and without further warning, she cut me with a dagger.
Ahhh! I winced in pain. It wasn't a normal cut. The pain was much more than a normal cut. Tears rolled down my cheeks and she collected it.
I looked at Darren and noticed that were he was standing was covered with ice. Was it because I was hurt?
Don't worry, the dagger's cut doesn't last, Nightingale said as she dropped my tears into the bowl.
Suddenly the cut healed itself up and the pain seized.
Come close and take a look, She said and Darren walked to the bowl. I followed suit and we stood around it as the color of the water changed into a bright purple.
The dream I had of the palace came into view. How the little girl bit the prince and he in turn bit the princess.
I looked at Darren, he seems shocked and I couldn't understand why.
DARREN'S POV
That's the young girl I see in my dreams. Does that mean Avia is her?
Suddenly the water turns bright red and another dream showed. Alvin, who is Alvin and why does she ( Avia )look so distressed... That spider... It seems so familiar. Where have I seen it before.
My head hurts and my core is in a frenzy.
It's confirmed that she is the girl in my dreams but she seems to be a princess and our parents were very close but why can't I remember any of it.
Darren... Darren, Avia said tugging at my robe. I noticed that I had spaced out and she had a worried look on her face.
What's wrong? She asked and I shook my head. The little prince in your dreams... It's me and I think the princess is you
What? Avia muttered and stepped back a bit. Her face seemed to have been drained of it's colour. This news isn't going down well with her.
No... does that mean..., She mumbled and turned towards the exit.
Wait, Avia... What's wrong, I said going after her. "This should be interesting" I heard Nightingale mutter behind me.
Avia ran into the library in the palace and began searching through the shelves.
What is she looking for?
She comes across a book and immediately she touched it, it flew off the shelf and landed on the floor. It's pages flipped open and it's pages look like a clear water.
I walk towards it, Avia was already squatting next to it. Nightingale was behind me.
It was displaying some kind of memory... What?
AVIA'S POV
As I watch this horrifying scene again, It dawned on me. I am the little girl and Darren is the young prince.
A whole kingdom slaughtered mercilessly. Our parents were brutally slaughtered by that witch. I feel a mixture of pain and anger.
My claws elongate on their own. I see the part where she turns into a spider, it's the same spider that attacked Alvin... I hope he is ok wherever he is
I looked at Darren and his eyes burned a bright red colour. He must be feeling the same way I'm feeling. That witch made us orphans... She must pay dearly!
