★ ATTACK ...★
AVIA'S POV
I turned my back to Alvin and I could hear him stomp away angrily.
What he did was wrong and I could only see remorse for my condition and not because he poisoned Darren. Why did he do that to Darren?, is it to get revenge for what ever reason he was put in the dark cell??
But what did he mean by an attack? I need to warn Darren immediately.
I quickly dash out of the room and make my way to the ballroom. As I walked towards the ballroom, I noticed the guards were fast asleep. Strange!
I walk towards the entrance and it's the same thing. Everyone seems to be fast asleep, I try to wake them up but they don't budge. Suddenly, the gate burst open revealing an pack of ghouls and monstrosities.
They started making way from the middle and a woman came from their midst. Her pale white skin, white pupils and deadly aura... It feels so familiar.
My chest tightens up. I try to wake up the guards but it proves futile. Their bloodthirsty gazes are on me but they do not proceed.
I try my best to close the palace doors before they reach and it seems like my action triggered them.
The lady signalled them and immediately they charged at the palace. I managed to close the door but I doubt if it can stop them.
I run towards the ballroom and I bumped into Calix.
CALIX'S POV
Slow down Avia! What's wrong and why are you not in the room? I asked.
Ghouls... outside... guards asleep... attack, she mumbles trying to catch her breath.
I quickly head towards the main entrance and I could hear banging on the door. I transform into a phoenix and fly to the window.
I gaze down and behold, a pack of ghouls, about a hundred of them where trying to force their way into the palace. The ivory door is strong but not strong enough.
How is it that the guards are asleep? The palace defenses are down and Darren is in no condition to fight.
I need to alert everyone.
ANAYA'S POV
Calix rushes into Lauren's room and I could see the urgency in his eyes.
Ghouls are trying to break into the palace and all the guards are in a deep sleep, he says.
What!! Lauren exclaims getting to her feet.
You two should head to the ballroom and protect Darren. I'll handle the rest, he says and heads off.
Lauren and I exchange looks before heading to the ballroom.

As we step inside, the ritual is already under way.
Nightingale brought out a huge black spider. It was the size of a fist and looked really poisonous.
She placed it on Darren's arm and it crawled around before biting him on his neck.
If I'm not mistaken, that's a black widow spider. It's no ordinary one and it's bite is very painful.
The venom spreads across his body and green lines formed, His veins popping out. I can't watch him in such agony. He must be going through hell
I look to the side and noticed Avia. That wretch.
LAUREN'S POV
Anaya suddenly dashed towards Avia and held her tightly by her neck.
You wretch! It's all your fault that Darren is in such excruciating pain. Your foolishness might cost him his life!
I manage to pull her away and hold her before she kills Avia. "Calm down Anaya" I say.
The palace is currently under attack and Darren's life is on the line. Don't cause a scene!
Anaya finally calms down and walks towards Nightingale.
I look at Avia. She's currently gasping for air and the marks around her neck is clearly visible. I don't hate her at all but Anaya is right! She's always the center of drama in this palace.
Ever since she arrived, problems started coming up. Whether it's her fault or not, she is a bad omen.
If we survive this, I'll send her far away from us. Somewhere she can live peacefully and we can also gain peace of mind as well.
DEREK'S POV
I am currently in the garden. Things are getting weirder in this palace. I can hear unusual sounds coming from the main palace door.
As I walked towards it, I meet Calix standing in front. The sounds of growls filled the air. Ghouls??
I walk over to Calix. What's going on and why are the guards sleeping? I ask
Someone laced their food. Ghouls are currently trying to invade the palace and our defences are down, he says.
Suddenly the door breaks down and an army of ghouls stare us down.
We are currently the only barrier between them and the palace. This will be fun.
They all charge at once and Calix's eyes glow bright red as he conjures balls of flames and began hurling them
Anything those flames touches is engulfed and consumed in seconds.
I transform into my wolf and launch at them. I ripped one in two with my claws and bite off the head of another.
Two of them try to attack me from the back but Calix set them ablaze.
Soon our backs were against each other, ready for any attack.
The fight kept getting intense as more kept coming. Some of them got past us and a fair lady walked past us as well.
She turned around and launched a surprise attack but Calix took the hit and was sent crashing into the wall.
She had a sly grin on her face as she walked away.
AVIA'S POV
Darren seems like he's in excruciating pain. He lets out a scream as he struggled. His eyes were slowly turning white and he became aggressive...His breaths laced with ashes
Fight it your majesty! Don't lose control of your energy or your senses, the spell caster said seeing how the situation was turning out.
His hair started turning gray, his pupils were receding and his finger nails grew longer.
He's losing control! We need to help him, Lauren said.
Talk to him, don't let him lose control of his subconsciousness, the spell caster said.
Darren look at me, it's me Anaya, don't give up Darren please! Anaya beckoned but it didn't seem to be working.
The enchantment circle started changing to an ominous red colour.
The door suddenly burst open revealing a few ghouls and the witch.
She launched a fire ball at us but the spell caster created a magical barrier around us.
What a pathetic attempt! The witch cackled loudly and immediately the ghouls began banging on the barrier, trying to break it down.
Lauren reenforced it with ice and Anaya strengthened it with her powers. Hold it with all your might! Don't let them get through, the spell caster said and the three ladies increased the power.
Maleficent smirked deviously and began launching powerful attacks on the barrier.
I turned around to Darren and he's slowly losing control. I know that if he recovers, we can have a fighting chance.
What can I do?
LAUREN'S POV
I turn around and see Avia heading towards Darren. She crossed into the enchantment circle and kept going towards him.
Are you crazy? The only thing holding him back are those chains. If you go too close, he might kill you! I scream but she doesn't stop.
She keeps moving until she's face to face with him. Darren grabs her hand, sinking his claws into her.
Blood seeps out of it but she doesn't seem to be bothered. She pulls him closer and placed her lips on his, tears rolling down her cheeks.
His grip on her reduces and his eyes are becoming normal again. His fingers return back to it's normal length.
How is that possible??
