Chapter 17 - CHAPTER 17: Kasela's Dilemma

Brenda and Kasela sat in Kasela's room, both of them panting heavily.

"That guy is a bully and he even dared to challenge the school prince" Brenda said

But kasela didn't hear her as her mind was far off,she remembered the warnings of her aunt she was scared when she remembered how Maximus asked her out, she couldn't imagine what could have happened had Regalus not interfered. Soon tears began falling and she started sobbing

"Could her day be worst than this?" She thought.

Brenda who was surprised to see her crying hugged her. She hadn't even started yet and she already encountered troubles kasela thought and wiped away her tears. Brenda stayed with her for a while and later returned to her room. Kasela washed up and changed into a pair of pink pyjamas and dove under the covers of her bed. She was in deep thoughts, she knew the bully won't let her be, the one who could save her from him was Regalus. It was unexpected how Regalus always saved her from every troubles she encounters. Perhaps she need to vbe friends with him so as to constantly be under his protection. Her mind was in turmoil when she remembered her aunt's words to keep away from dangerous people. Though Regalus had saved her twice, she couldn't shake off the feeling that he wasn't ordinary, he could be even more dangerous than Maximus Kasela reasoned out but what could she do she didn't want to be a prey to anybody, she didn't know anyone and wasn't close to anyone except Brenda. She contemplated calling her aunt but she didn't want to trouble her. Kasela let out a deep sigh, she really felt lonely and scared, she needed to be strong and focus on her studies. Kasela concluded and closed her eyes as sleep consumed her.

An hour later, beads of sweat began forming on her forehead and her breathing became laboured. Kasela could see herself running down a long dark corridor and footsteps ran behind her. She suddenly bump into a wall and fell down, the figure behind approached her slowly and suddenly a dim light above her was switched on and Kasela saw the figure approaching her, she leaned on the wall behind her, her eyes wide with fear, she saw two long canines and two pairs of red eyes. The figure leaned down on her and Kasela could feel it's heated breath on her face and just as it opened its mouth, Kasela gave a piercing scream and woke up. She took deep breaths and wiped the sweats formed on her forehead. This was the third time she was having this nightmare. The same canines and red eyes, the long canines reminded her of the stories of vampires she heard from her classmates back in highschool. Kasela shook her head, those stories were fictional, such creatures do not exist, she told herself. Her breathing had become stable and she sighed when she carried her phone to check the time only to discover that it was past 10pm which means she had missed her dinner. Her stomach grumbled and she winced, she turned around and saw a plate of sweet potatoes and peanut curry on the small table in her room. She wondered who dropped it and she rose to check her door, it wasn't locked and she immediately guessed it was Brenda who dropped the food. She locked the door and began eating hoping it wasn't poisoned. She couldn't go out to the canteen alone, the events of the day still lingered on her mind. Having nothing to do she picked up her books and began going through the lessons of the day. She continued reading until sleep overtook her.
