Authors note- Hi people that may read this
This is my first book and I decided to write this because I always am coming up with book ideas but I suck at spelling and grammar I never wrote anything. The first two paragraphs I have spell checked but the websites I was trying were getting annoying so I have not checked them after so my sincere apologies for this trash! Other than that if it is not too negative I'm happy to take criticism and am happy to improve.
As the early morning light pierces my eyes and my consciousness catches up, I gasp, drawing in a much-needed breath of air. I find myself in an unfamiliar, strange place, seemingly injured. Looking around, I notice several incongruities that prompt questions in my mind. Shattered glass litters the floor of what appears to be an ancient cottage, with furniture broken and upended.
A window on the wall throws a warm, golden light across the room, highlighting a thick layer of dust on every surface. Scanning the room for clues to my whereabouts only multiplies my questions. The cottage, known to be old, seems to have aged beyond my expectations. The items scattered around suggest a medieval era, reminiscent of scenes from historical dramas. In one corner, a built-in fireplace stands cold and unused, a cauldron suspended from a hook above unlit, decaying wood.
It feels as though time has frozen in this cottage for centuries, yet my injury demands immediate attention, pushing aside these thoughts. My leg bears the mark of a large dog bite, surrounded by a worrying redness, possibly indicating infection. This might explain the nausea, although I've never been well-versed in medical knowledge beyond the occasional herbal tea for anxiety.
Growing concerned, I hear the sound of running water, sparking the thought that I should clean the wound. Dismissing the confusion about how I arrived here, I cautiously lift myself from the creaking wooden bed. I hobble towards a door leading outside, squinting as the sunlight momentarily blinds me. The view that greets me is astonishing.
Verdant expanses stretch out before me, a stream with deep pools ideal for daily use, flowers, and what resembles a garden shed. Overwhelmed, I utter, "Wow," in awe at the sight.

Ding Starter Pack Acquired
Would you like to open?
A screen is hovering in front of my eyes and scares me so much I fall on my behind.
" Fuck! That hurt!" I yell out squeezing my eyes shut. As I open them again the screen is still there and I almost go bug eyed from how wide they are. I pat the ground to see if this was really happening and was rewarded with the feeling of moist dirt on my hands. I hesitated before putting my finger out to press yes on the screen to opening the starter pack. As soon as I do again a ding rings out from the screen.

It is recommended that you start planting to level up you are no longer a resident of earth but the planet Alveria. It is almost straight from the brains of fantasy enthusiasts from the novels you read in your past life. I wont explain further than at night it's best you stay inside the beasts in the area will know you are here but won't come near claimed area which is the garden and cottage.
As I read the message, fear began to bubble up and my anxiety made me dizzy; I was no longer on Earth. I found myself in a new place where death could come at any moment, and the message vanished before my eyes. I managed to stand and hobble to the stream, finding a patch of still water. The reflection was not my own; in my past life, I was fair-skinned with brown hair and light eyes. Now, I had olive skin, black hair, and forest green eyes.
I wasn't unnaturally pretty as one might expect; instead, I looked more masculine compared to my previously dainty body. With a strong jaw, fit physique, and tall stature, I was handsome—capable of crossdressing and passing completely. Sitting at the water's edge, I splashed some onto my wound, and with a few tears, it was cleansed. I resolved to check out the cottage and perhaps gather my thoughts.
Naturally, the door creaks open with a loud noise, so I choose to leave it ajar, allowing fresh air in and some dust out. I hobble over to a small, overturned round table, set it upright, and do the same with the adjacent chair. Lacking any ladylike grace, I drop down onto the chair with a hefty sigh, murmuring, "Gods, that's exhausting," as I catch my breath. With a hint of hesitation, I utter "system," which immediately activates the screen before me.

Heal L 1
Items can be found in the gardening shed out in the garden.
I began exploring the system, clicking around to understand it. The skills seemed straightforward, but 'heal' caught my eye. It belonged to the light family of magic and promised wound healing. Looking at my wound, I extended my hand and shouted, "HEAL!" A burst of light followed, leaving me slightly drained, and the wound lost its redness.
Still, it wasn't fully healed, so I tried once more, only to experience black spots in my vision and dizziness, though the holes in my leg were significantly smaller. I sat at the table, taking slow, deep breaths, feeling like an eternity had passed. Noticing the midday heat, I stood up, despite the pain, and headed to the garden shed. The door, old and stubborn, nearly fell off its hinges as I pulled. A musty odor greeted me, but a sweep of my hand cleared the shed. Inside, I found two crates of sprouting potatoes and shelves lined with various fruits and vegetables. Neatly arranged in a basket were seed packets, clearly alien in origin, containing fruit trees, edible vegetables, and herbs.
At least there were potatoes. I took the basket of seeds to the garden, which had a small field and four garden beds, surprisingly weed-free. I planted some of the herbs in one of the beds.

Confused by the barrage of notifications, I methodically read through them and began to make plans. My familiarity with herbs, thanks to my tea-drinking habits, made me consider using them for tea, except perhaps for Metleum. According to the system, I can wield the weapons. "Beasts," what an odd notion—I ponder whether they'll be fantastical or akin to Earth's creatures. Shaking off the distraction, I realize I must concentrate or risk hunger. I take half of the potato sprouts and methodically plant them in neat rows across the field. Suddenly, the sound of another notification startles me.

Ding Acquired The Spell Crescere L 1
"YESSS!" I exclaim, overcome with joy at the thought of eating. Gazing at the freshly planted potato, I command, "Crescere," in a firm voice. As if by magic, the potato leaves burst forth from the earth, then gradually wither away. I delve into the soil, extracting the potatoes, and behold—a triumphant harvest!
Ding Acquired 5 Magically Grown Potatoes
Leaves the person that eats them full of energy and a trace of magic recovery
"Wha-?" I utter, bewildered. Magically grown? Does using flora on food produce strange effects? For now, I dismiss the thought, dusting the dirt off the potatoes and heading back to the cottage as sunlight bathes the small field. I begin to ponder the cottage's lighting—how will I manage to see? Entering the house, I glance down at my attire: a simple brown cotton shirt, a pair of leather pants, and no shoes, leaving my feet inevitably dirty. I place the potatoes at the doorway, then wander over to the water to wash my feet, inadvertently cutting my foot on something submerged.
"Ouch!" I cry out looking into the water seeing an old beat-up sword, I grab it out of the water throwing it onto the grass yelling a quick heal at my foot getting even more drained.
Gratefully, I offer thanks to the gods for the healing spell. 'If I can cast 'heal,' a light-based spell, then I must possess an affinity for light,' I muse. Eager to avoid embarrassment, I softly recite various incantations, infusing them with a hint of magic. To my surprise, the spell 'lumen' ignites at my fingertip, demanding remarkably little magical energy. With urgency, I seize the aged sword and hasten to the cottage as dusk encroaches. Snatching the potatoes left at the entrance, I enter the abode. There, in the right corner, sits the fireplace, adjacent to a modest table laden with what appears to be cooking implements.
I take stock of my possessions: a cauldron, a cooking table, a type of metal pan, wooden plates and bowls, three sets of utensils, and a worn, dull knife. In the room, the bed occupies the left corner, crafted from wood with what appears to be a woolen mattress. Near the door in the right-hand corner is the table I had picked up, and to the left near the door stands an armoire closet. Covered in dust, I decide to postpone cooking the potatoes until morning. I open the window to let in some fresh air. Holding my breath, I approach the bed and hit the mattress, sending dust into the air. I frantically wave my arms to clear the dust out the window, which must look quite silly. As I stop, the sunlight leaves the room, plunging it into near total darkness. I cast "Lumen" to light up the room, check the bed for any debris, and then lie down, marking my first day in this new world.
