Chapter 1 - I

"God. This is SO fucking boring."

Ethan couldn't help but think those words over and over again as he entered lines upon lines of code. Opening his IDE easily brought his mood down tenfold. He couldn't stand his job, but it's the only thing that funded his hobby. "Could I even call it a hobby? Most people brush this off as a death wish" Ethan found himself thinking one time. Suddenly, the clock struck 5:30 PM and Ethan saw a bright pop-up in the top right corner of his screen, notifying him that his shift was over. Ethan had never gotten up faster in his life to head to the time clock. Today was his big day. He was exploring one of the most haunted places known to mankind.

In the heart of the city, where the pulse of urban life throbbed strongest, Ethan Turner stood at the precipice of the unknown. His latest obsession was an old, decrepit office building on the outskirts of the city. Abandoned and swallowed by time, it beckoned to him like a siren's song.

As Ethan pushed open the creaking door, his flashlight cut through the darkness, revealing a labyrinth of dust-laden corridors and peeling paint. The air was thick with the scent of decay and forgotten stories. This was his world, a place where he could peel back the layers of reality and touch something raw and virgin to the hands of mankind.

Something's off.

Ethan couldn't brush that thought. With every step deeper into the building, a sense of unease crept over him. The silence was suffocating, the darkness too dense. It was as if the building itself was alive, breathing, watching. Ethan tried to shake off the feeling; after all, he was no stranger to the eerie embrace of abandoned places.

In the center of the building, he found it – a door unlike any other he had encountered. It was unremarkable in appearance, yet it exuded a palpable sense of eeriness. Compelled by a force beyond his understanding, Ethan reached for the handle. The moment his fingers brushed against the metal, everything shifted.

Ethan's mind went blank. Everything began to move despite Ethan standing still. To his own bravado, Ethan mustered one thought:

  1. An integrated development environment (IDE) is a software application that provides comprehensive facilities for software development. An IDE normally consists of at least a source-code editor, build automation tools, and a debugger.
