The reason why I can confidently say that Bane of Existence is better than the Life Bane is because Life Bane is more like an enhancement technique. You imbue the energy of Life Bane to something and that gives it the effect of Life Bane for a period of time. Life Bane itself is not a bad ability, it's very good against living creature. Because it has the ability to completely negate any form of Immortality by stripping away the concept of Life itself.
