Upon reaching the private room and sitting down face to face with Paolo with Thea right beside me to make sure the talk goes well, Paolo opened up the conversation properly. "Allow me to introduce myself. I am Paolo. The Founder of Paolo Nanotek. May I know your name, Esteemed Captain?"
"Noah. Noah Aldridge. Nice to meet you Paolo."
"Nice to meet you too Captain."
Upon that short information, Paolo changes his body posture to a more serious posture. He lean forward and then looked at me with cold and calculative eyes. To which, I decided to reply with a warm and welcoming look.
Since he wants to be serious with me, let's go and play our own game then. You act serious, Paolo. I'll act calm and usual. Let's see who cracks first.
"I heard the situation from my employee that you are in need of a more advanced Nano Machines. Knowing that you are the captain of my benefactor, Madam Thea... It's in my best interest to give you a look at what you can get..." Paolo, after saying that, raised his hand and then waved it, giving a sign to one of his guards.
Then, they immediately give Paolo 2 pieces of papers and then he slide it on the table over to me. "These are the 2 more advanced machines that we have and are able to give you. So, pick based on what you need."
I take a look at the flyer that was given to me and analyze each of the flyer... The 2 machines are both an advanced machine. But, they're a specialized machine. One of the machine is called Omni Nano Synthesizer. Which is a specialized machine for creating armor and spacesuits. More a defensive for ourselves.
But the other one, is not something that I would think existed... Stellar Nano Synthesizer. It's used for creating a Nanotech Ship equipment. Such as, Nanotek Shield, Nanotek Cannon, and many more utility...
I can only buy 1 right now. I have enough resources to buy 2, although barely. But I need to spend those resources to improve the livelihood of the ship for Victor and Thea. That's where the budget went, Victor's hand.
And since I want Thea to keep having those leverage for Paolo... I decided to buy the Omni Nano Synthesizer. Because I need actual protection than ship protection. Eventually though, when my ship gets a lot bigger... Nano Protection will be necessary and I will come back or create an even better Nano machines.
"Well then, Paolo... Is there any discount if I were to buy both of them?"
"Hahaha, naturally, sir. If you were to BUY both machines, you will get a bit of the price cut off as a discount..."
"Well, unfortunately. I'm not really in the mood to upgrade my ship to Nanotek just now. So, I will be buying the Omni Nano Synthesizer though." I have made my decision and decided to not use the free pass that was given to Thea.
She seems to understand where I'm coming from and decided to not say anything such as offering the debt.
I look at Paolo and I can see that he's looking a bit nervous. Because he definitely want to get rid of that debt that he had with Thea. I continue with my smile and then take out the exact amount of cash needed to pay the Omni Nano Synthesizer.
Paolo realizes my intent and grind his teeth. He then sigh and then grab the pouch full of cash and then ask me "Where's your ship, Captain? I'll deliver your Nano Omni Synthesizer to your ship directly."
"Ah, here's the location." I give him my ship location and then we shake hands to finalize the deal.
Upon finalizing the deal, me and Thea quickly left before Paolo can say anything else that might gets us baited into buying more product. Because, I am impressed with Nanotek and is going to blow my money if I see more cool shit...
"That was an easy deal. Thanks for your help, Thea. If it's not for you, it's going to be hard for me to finalize that deal easily..." I thanked Thea for the opportunity she presented. Her presence alone makes it a lot easier to deal with Paolo.
He gives off a definite expert merchant and if I'm alone, I might be swallowed like a sheep getting eaten by a wolf. Although, I'm sure that without Thea, I won't be able to have a direct deal with Paolo himself because I will stuck with the normal employee.
Thea smiled and then replied "Naturally, Captain. It's the crews job to give the captain an easier time managing the crew. Although, that's probably the only deal that we can get easily as it's only by chance that I saved Paolo."
"It's more than enough, Thea. Your help in attaining the most important thing for me is already the most valuable. Anyway. Should we continue on moving?" I asked Thea that. To which, she immediately turns serious.
"Yes. Let's go ahead and find Victor, Captain." She continue to talk like usual but her vibes is completely different. Which makes me a bit confused with the mixed signal.
I don't know what she's thinking right now, but I need to keep her situation in mind...
We continue to walk out from the East side of the Trade Ship and make our way to the North, where we know Victor is located... And, as we go further and further... I notices some weird things happening around us.
The crowd started to disappears even though we're going through a common road... Not only that, mists started to fill the place and an immense cold pressure lurks behind me.
I look to the side and still see Thea beside me, her expression unchanged but her body posture is a lot more ready to fight than before.
"Who do you think our opponent are?" I immediately ask Thea for her input, because I only have suspicion, not an exact answer... Let's see if Thea thought the same thing as me.
"It's not someone that I would like to face. But, it is someone that we have to face. We pissed off the Overlord of the Deep Scavenger and now, he had sent his best assassin after us. We're facing against the Grim Reaper of the Deep, Jashin."
Upon hearing who's going after us, I got nervous but excited at the same time. Is this another opportunity for me to test out some of my weaponry? Or an opportunity to get more resources? If the Overlord loses its best assassin, then we can step on our gas and not worry about any hidden danger and face him head on.
So, here and now. I plan ahead on what could possibly happen and what I wanted to happen. The first one to make their moves, win.
