Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Nowhere to be found

Azer still couldn't find his anti-allergy medicine, and signs of anaphylaxis started the moment he consumed the food, and now it's been 15 minutes.

Itchy rashes almost covered Azer's body, but only those on his face are visible since he's wearing formal attire, and he's also having difficulty breathing.

Panic painted on the man's face when he witnessed the condition of Azer. "Just—where did you put your medicine, for god sake!?" He blurted out in panic. He then loosens his neck tie and pushes back his hair so that he can calm himself. 'Really? On my birthday!?' he thought to himself.

"What's your name?" The man squatted and asked out of nowhere.

Azer was shocked in disbelief. "Look? I'm suffering here, and you still care to ask for my name!?" He replied as if he's fine. But he only received a cold stare from the man. "Dane," he awkwardly introduced himself.

After getting satisfied with Azer's answer, the man rose from a squat and patted Azer's head. "Ok, Dane, wait for me; I'll go get you medicine. Just give me a couple minutes; I'll be back," he reassured before sprinting.

Azer felt the genuineness of that man's words, but as an unwanted child, he doesn't know how to react or how to respond to that feeling. So he acted as he usually does when someone leaves him alone.

He smiles, but his eyes fill with loneliness. He then also raises his hands and pats the dust off his pants as if nothing happened. "Silly, it's already been 2 minutes, but look? You're nowhere to be found." Azer sighed in dismay and made his way to the parking lot.

While walking, Azer picks out another lychee jelly and stuffs it in his mouth as if he doesn't have a lychee allergy. "Anaphylaxis was nothing compared to the poison I consume every week," he uttered, and then continued his way to the parking lot while humming.

When Azer reached the parking lot, he pressed his car key to locate his car. After he locates where his car is parked, he walks towards it, but his steps don't make any sounds, as if he's walking on air.

When he got into his car, he immediately made a phone call to his friend.

[On a phone call]

"Hello?" His friend Harper said in the other line.

"Harper, I'm going to go clubbing, and you will come," Azer said as if Harper didn't have the right to decline.

"You don't even want to ask me? Well, I'll go. So what's happened to the party?? I thought the witch wanted you there." Harper said it nonstop.

Azer rolled his eyes and started the engine of his car. "It's fine; she's boasting like she was proud of me. Like eww!!" He replied with disgust.

On the other line, Harper was also listening with disgust on his face. "Oh, it's the last day of the month (June), and it's also your birthday, right? How about showing them that you're the star of this night?" Harper suggests with excitement on his voice.

"That's my plan," Azer smirked before stepping on the gas of his car.

Azer and Harper had a few more chats before ending the call. After the call, Azer was busy formulating a plan for how to provoke his stepmother.
