Chapter 1 - PROLOGUE

"You have no clue what power that watch possesses," The old man warned, his voice shaky. He possessed a long bushy beard, a bald head and bright green eyes. Wearing a blue robe with golden lining, he held a staff with a green spherical crystal ball at one end. He leaned on his staff to support himself.

"You need not worry, it will soon be in the right hands," The general replied. He wore a silver knight armor, a sword strapped to his hips. His eyes were deep black and his hair blonde in color.

"It is in the right hands, return it," The old man cautioned, his voice now deep and threatening.

The general raised a brow in his direction. "Are you going try to and take it by force? No need for that, you are too old for me to kill you, you will die yourself in a few months." The general mocked with a smile on his face.

The old man straightened his body and aimed his staff at the general. "I warned you." A red spherical orb formed at thr staff's top, pulling in and destroying everything around it. The orb shot towards the general, destroying the ground as it moved straight to him.

"I also warned you." The general responded, his smile fading to a glare. Unsheathing his sword he slashed the orb in half, causing it to explode before it could reach him. The general then pointed his sword at the old man, a silver sword marked with symmetrical blue linings on the blade and the lion symbol of the kingdom of Einsdael on the handle.

The pointing of the sword, however, turned out to be unnecessary. The energy slash of his sword already slashed the wizard's body apart diagonally, the two parts lying a feet apart. The general sighed at the boring fight and turned to leave after sheathing his sword.

"Are you certain you wish to take that?" A voice called from behind.

The general turned around to look at the source of the voice. The owner of the voice from the sound of it, was male, though it couldn't be discerned from his appearance. His body was a black figure, as dark as the darkest void. The outline of the hair also seemed very hard to make out, but his body shape seemed human, a slightly shorter than six feet male. The robe he wore only seemed slightly visible due to the wind causing it to flutter, and the gold linings on it. Other than the gold lining on the edges, his robe, just like him, seemed to have been made of the darkest void

"You wish to fight me too huh?" The general inquired, facing the mysterious person.

"Oh certainly not, you will die too quickly, too fragile for my liking." The figure chuckled in a mischievous tone.

"Allow me to show you who is fragile," The general growled, unsheathing his sword again and walking towards the figure.

"Trust me, I know of my capabilities, and yours too," The figure responded.

There were no eyes visible but the general could still feel a thousand eyes watching his every move. Stopping in his tracks the general tried to get his mind under control, certain this was a psychic spell, very fitting of a high level mage.

"I am not a mage, and you have my word, I will kill you if you try anything," the figure warned in a threatening voice. "The only reason I am letting you live is that I want you to carry a message to your king, you can take the watch as a reward, I don't need find much use of it anymore anyways.

Remembering about the pocket watch he pulled it out from his pocket. A golden stopwatch, the needles seemingly made out of diamonds, a golden chain attached to it for hanging it around one's neck.

"I will advi-" The mysterious figure began to speak, stopping mid-sentence, not moving an inch.

The general removed his finger from the button on the stopwatch, stopping time itself. The leaves stopped in the air, the mist did not seemed to be moving anymore, wll life became statues in the midst of whatever they were doing.

"This is the power we possess now!" He announced lifting his hands in the air and turning to observe everything.

"As I was saying, I will advise against it," The mysterious figure whispered in the general's ears. The general, startled, tried to run away but tripped and fell to the ground. The figure looking at the general, giving no sign of any emotions. "As I said a few moments ago, I want you to carry a message to your king, you will do it, right?" The figure inquired, tilting his head at the general.

The general nodded, his expression still one of shock.

"Good, tell your king to take a stroll to a village eighteen kilometers south of his castle, precisely ten days from now, at noon when the sun is at its highest." The figure instructed.

The general nodded again, and though he couldn't see, he felt certain of the figure's smile.

"And don't question the stopwatch's powers, it's just loyal and doesn't likes to affect its 'creator'." Saying this the mysterious figure disappeared into thin air, as if he never existed to begin with.

The general got up to his feet slowly and cautiously, his eyes darting around prepared for the figure to pop out of thin air and attack him. When nothing happened for a few seconds the general bolted towards the forest and disappeared into the trees, unable to believe the encounter.
