Chapter 2 - [Episode 2:Twists of Fate]

Opening scene: We pick up where we left off, with Ryan in his room, having just written half of Milo Karter's name in the Death Note. He pauses, contemplating the morality of taking a life to save another.

Ryan (internal dialogue): Killing a murderer to save a life... am I any different then?

He questions the reality of the Death Note.

Ryan: No way... this book can't be real... can it?

Despite his doubts, Ryan decides to proceed and writes Milo's full name in the Death Note. He waits for the specified 40 seconds, watching the news on TV as Milo holds a girl hostage.

BREAKING NEWS: Milo has collapsed, and the hostage is released!

Ryan is shocked at the apparent success of his actions. He debates with himself, wrestling with the idea of whether it makes him a murderer or if it was just a coincidence.

Meanwhile, his mother interrupts his thoughts, reminding him that he has to go to night school.

At night school,

Vie: Hey, Ryan, did you hear about Milo Karter? It's all over the news.

Ryan (nervously): Yeah, I... I heard. It's crazy, right?

Vie: I know, right? They're saying he collapsed, and the hostage got released. What a twist of fate.

Ryan (trying to act casual): Yeah, totally unexpected.

Vie: You seem a bit off, though. Everything okay?

Ryan (hesitant): Yeah, just... it's a lot to take in. The whole situation, I mean.

Vie: I get it. It's pretty intense. But hey, we're safe now, right?

Ryan (nervously): Yeah, safe. Definitely.

Vie continues talking about the news, unaware of the internal struggle and secrets Ryan is carrying. The conversation unfolds with an underlying tension as Ryan grapples with the consequences of his actions and the newfound weight on his shoulders.

After night school, Ryan witnesses a drunken guy introducing himself to a girl and making a threatening statement.

Drunken Guy: If you don't date me, Jerry Smith, I will Kill you.

Ryan, still wrestling with the moral implications of the Death Note, observes the drunken guy making a threatening statement to the girl. Feeling a mix of uncertainty and responsibility, he decides to intervene.

Ryan (whispering to himself): This can't be real, but... if it is...

He takes out the Death Note, glancing at the rules once more. After a moment of contemplation, he writes the name "Jerry Smith" in the notebook

As the seconds tick away, Ryan watches nervously. The atmosphere around him becomes tense, and he wonders if this act will lead to another unexpected turn of events.

After the 40 seconds pass, the drunken guy starts to show signs of distress. He clutches his chest

Ryan, witnessing the unexpected turn of events, is both shocked and conflicted as the drunken guy collapses and succumbs to the mysterious cause of death. The reality of the Death Note's power becomes more apparent, and Ryan is left in a state of disbelief.

Ryan (whispering to himself): No way... it worked again. But what have I done?

As the girl looks on in confusion, Ryan grapples with the weight of his actions. The moral dilemma intensifies, and he begins to question the consequences of using the Death Note to influence the fate of others.

Girl (looking at Ryan): What just happened?

Ryan (hesitant): I... I don't know. It's like... I didn't expect...

He struggles to find the right words, torn between keeping the secret and the need to share the truth. The encounter with the Death Note continues to shape Ryan's understanding of the power he now holds, leaving him with a profound sense of responsibility and unease.
