Cheng Yanzhi responded affirmatively.
His mother asked, "I heard you locked up Qingqing?"
"It's not a rumor, it's a fact." Cheng Yanzhi wasn't afraid to let his mother know.
"What are you doing? Your aunt and Qingqing's parents are here." Mrs. Cheng, unaware of the drugging incident, found Yanzhi's actions incomprehensible.
The two families were so close; his actions were too extreme.
Cheng Yanzhi didn't answer his mother's words. Instead, he changed the topic, asking the servant beside him, "Has grandfather returned yet?"
"Not yet."
Seeing her son ignore her, Mrs. Cheng ordered, "You immediately release her!"
"Impossible." Cheng Yanzhi replied: "Mother, don't interfere with this matter. I don't want to argue with you over this."
He knew that these were relatives from his mother's side of the family and understood that his mother would be put in a difficult position.
