After ending the call, Xia Yunsheng walked out. As Cheng Yanzhi put down her phone, she asked, "Who was that?"
"Che."
"What did he say?"
"Nothing important." Cheng Yanzhi thought it was better not to tell her about her mother.
Though Xia Yunsheng held no grudges against her mother, if it was her stepfather, she certainly wouldn't be willing to help.
After all, she always felt that her mother had wronged her father.
Xia Yunsheng had just thrown up, feeling incredibly unwell, and didn't have the energy to ask anything more.
Cheng Yanzhi pulled her into his arms, looking at her with concern. "Are you okay?"
Leaning against him, she didn't feel like asking anything more. "I'm fine."
Cheng Yanzhi looked at Xia Yunsheng. Seeing how much she was suffering in just the early stages of her pregnancy, and knowing that there were still many months to go, filled his heart with concern. He wished he could take the discomfort upon himself.
