Zheng Haoyu was holding a high-level company meeting when his phone suddenly rang.
Zheng Haoyu's eyebrows knit together. Who would be calling him at such a time?
"Zheng Haoyu, hurry up and pick me up at the police station, I'm hungry," came Su Nian's voice from the other end of the line.
"The police station? Did you say you're at the police station?" Zheng Haoyu's voice shot up an octave, making Su Nian think her ears were humming. She stuck out her tongue, unsure of whether she was doing the right thing. The company's senior leaders in the meeting room instantly felt the temperature drop, exchanging glances without daring to make a sound.
"Yes, I've been here for almost an hour now," Su Nian reassured Zheng Haoyu that he hadn't misheard.
"Damn it, what have you done now?" Zheng Haoyu could almost hear his teeth grinding.
