With this thought in mind, Su Nian calmly sat on the sofa sipping water and glanced at Zheng Haoyu and the woman. Go on, go on, I'm ready for the show.
Seeing the woman's coquettish and sharp-tempered antics, Zheng Haoyu sternly ordered, "Shut up."
Zheng Haoyu's eyes casually rested on Su Nian.
Before their marriage, he didn't know Su Nian, he had never, in fact, heard of her. But his grandfather had forced him into a marriage with this unknown woman, leaving him no route for refusal. As if the injustice of this situation were not enough, his love had consequently fled far away. How could he not harbour resentment? Therefore, he aimed to torment her, to the extent where she would wish she were dead. Only then would he be content.
"Don't think just because we're married, you are really Lady Zheng." He said coldly.
The two of them locked eyes, as though they were in a silent competition of who had better control over their emotions.
She, with an oval face, slightly chubby like a baby, willow leaf eyebrows and peach blossom eyes sparkled with life, subtly conveying an array of emotions, a small, straight nose, she had a touch of pure, refreshing cuteness that radiated especially vibrant in her wedding dress.
He, with phoenix eyes that seemed to see through everything in the world, a pair of thin lips. They say men with thin lips are heartless, and he truly was one such man.
"Haha, that's exactly what I was about to tell you. Don't think just because we're married, you can do whatever you want to me. From today on, the other bedroom has been claimed by me."
"Oh, Miss Su, I believe this is my villa. I wasn't aware that such a principle existed or is it that Miss Su has always been so ill-disciplined? Or do you think you should be the one lying on my bed?"
"Right, this is your villa, but don't forget, oh, it's my name filled out in the spouse column of your family registry. Ah, I forgot to tell you, I lost my parents when I was young, so I don't have the luxury of the sophisticated upbringing that Mr. Zheng speaks of. As for Mr. Zheng's bed, it taints my pure image, doesn't it? It's late now, you may continue with your business, I'm off to bed, goodnight." She didn't wait to hear Zheng Haoyu's response and walked towards her own room.
"You…." Zheng Haoyu was consumed with anger. He had planned to humiliate her on their wedding night, but ironically, the one humiliated was him.
"Get lost." Zheng Haoyu glared at the woman next to him, finding no joy in her companionship.
The woman observed Zheng Haoyu's increasingly gloomy face, worried that a single slip could lead to her downfall in City B. She hastily straightened her dishevelled clothes, blaming this all on Su Nian. She had finally won over the Golden Turtle that was Zheng Haoyu, with the hopes to exploit more benefits from him. Now, she certainly cannot anger him. "Haoyu, make sure to visit me when you get the time."
Her cloyingly sweet voice only aggravated Zheng Haoyu's irritation. "Alright, alright, hurry up and go."
"Wait, this is for you." Zheng Haoyu passed her a signed cheque. The woman's heart bloomed as her eyes fell on the countless zeros, she swayed her hips triumphantly out of the villa.
In the other main bedroom, Su Nian stretched lazily, the image of Zheng Haoyu's flushed face in her mind was simply too delightful. Was this her life after getting married? Today was just the beginning.
Su Nian rubbed her temples, slipped off the complex wedding dress, took a relaxing hot bath, and climbed into bed for a good night's sleep. She behaved nothing like a humiliated bride.
Meanwhile, Zheng Haoyu sat alone in his study, his expression dark. He had anticipated that a woman who could manipulate his parents wouldn't be an easy adversary. But the events of the evening had left them in a stalemate, which irked Zheng Haoyu greatly.
