Lu Wenyu walked over and sat down on the bench with him, gazing out over the lake together.
"Here." She handed him a white handkerchief.
Meng Zichen bit his lip, ignoring her.
Lu Wenyu, copying his posture with his legs hugged to his body asked, "Are you crying because of the woman who rejected you yesterday?"
Meng Zichen turned to glare at her intensely: "She's my mom, and she did not reject me!"
"But she did abandon you," Lu Wenyu tilted her head, looking at him innocently, "You called out to her yesterday, but she didn't stay to take care of you."
Hit by Lu Wenyu's blunt words, tears welled up instantly in Meng Zichen's eyes. "My mom would never abandon me! Stop your nonsense! I find you so annoying, I don't even know you, why did you come and sit next to me?"
With that, he harshly pushed Lu Wenyu away.
Caught off guard, Lu Wenyu was pushed by Meng Zichen, fell off the bench, and rolled down the slope into the pond.
