Having lived here for four years, she had nearly recognized everyone in the town, so coming out to dinner with Lu Yebai now made her feel somewhat awkward.
She instantly regretted it, if she had known, she wouldn't have come downstairs.
"Aren't you going to eat?" Meng Xi'er asked softly.
"I'm full."
Meng Xi'er nodded, ordering mushroom soup and a steak for herself. Lu Yebai ordered a coffee and both sat at the table waiting for their meal.
The island was very quiet in the evening. The entire western restaurant had just her and Lu Yebai as its two customers. The streets were mostly deserted, with only the solitary lights flickering.
"How many years have you lived here?"
Lu Yebai suddenly asked.
"Fo-four years..." Meng Xi'er was taken aback and answered subconsciously.
"Four years..." Lu Yebai nodded, "Have you always lived in Baisha City before?"
Meng Xi'er lowered her eyes and whispered a response.
She didn't understand why Lu Yebai would suddenly ask this question.
