Lu Yebai's lips curled into a cold smile as he embraced her and kissed her, not caring much for her heart.
He didn't care whether she loved or hated him.
His heart was icy cold though, like it was soaking in freezing water. The stiffness of the woman in his arms brought him a hard-to-describe chill.
In a haze, Lu Yebai started to think that he might not be as indifferent to her emotional state as he thought he was. But the fleeting thought was elusive, and unable to decipher his own feelings, he decided to just let it go and not act on it.
They returned to Baisha City, and Lu Yebai had already arranged a residence for Meng Xi'er — a hilltop villa.
This villa, bought a few years ago for vacationing, was surrounded by mountains and rivers. A garden had been cleared on the hilltop, with a swimming pool, a cinema, and a gym - all fully equipped. Always one to not skimp on himself, every detail in the villa was meticulously crafted to be top-notch.
"Mr. Lu, you're back!"
