From the corner of his eye, he quickly glanced at the opened drawer, his eyes darkening subtly. Suddenly, he lunged forward to snatch the documents from Meng Xi'er's hands.
Meng Xi'er, who was sitting on the chair, abruptly stood up and stepped back, placing the files behind her, out of Lu Yebai's reach.
She lifted her head, her face so pale it was almost transparent, her eyes slightly red. With a raspy voice, she asked, "Lu Yebai, can you please explain the signatures on the documents?"
Lu Yebai didn't expect that he had forgotten to lock the drawer last night, let alone that the files had been seen by Meng Xi'er. He pursed his lips slightly, his expression turning rather gloomy.
"Xixi, don't ask." He stepped forward, looking at her. "Hand me the documents, and let's act as if this never happened."
