Qiao Tian pinched her nose. The girl was truly exasperating!
"Did I really mess up his operation? Wasn't it his thing with Jones Ellie?"
"Yep." Qiao Tian raised an eyebrow.
"I'm sorry Su Yan. And thank you." While Yang Minhan was impulsive and had a tendency to rush into danger, it was driven by a zest for justice and she wasn't an ungrateful person.
"No need for thanks. Just think before acting recklessly in future. Consider if you're capable enough to get yourself out unscathed. And stop bothering Mrs. Su at all times! " Su Yan did not want his wife getting involved with this dangerous woman, for fear of her getting implicated someday.
Yang Minhan pursed her lips.
"It's me who got Minhan involved this time." Bai Xue spoke up for Yang Minhan.
"You got her involved? Don't you think that even if you weren't identified, she would be?" Su Yan retorted with a cold laugh.
Bai Xue frowned, "Don't be so harsh, she was acting out of justice and dedication to her work."
"Justice requires capability and understanding of one's own limitations. A person incapable of doing anything trying to serve justice ends up doing harm!" Su Yan did not appreciate Yang Minhan repeatedly putting Qiao Tian, his very close friend, in grave danger.
Bai Xue had no rebuttal to Su Yan's comment. She also disapproved of Yang Minhan's reckless spirit.
Yang Minhan had her own sense of self-awareness. Yet, every time she received a tip off, her body acted before her mind could and moreover her duty as a police officer didn't allow her to retreat.
After a tense silence, Yang Minhan cried out, there was something she just wasn't able to understand! Until she got clarity, she wouldn't be able to rest in peace!
"Xiao Xue, what's the deal with that photo? I clearly shot the auction items, why did I end up with his photo with Jones Ellie? You didn't even touch my pinhole camera!" That was something she just couldn't figure out.
Bai Xue smiled, "I moved you, hence the angle changed, naturally what the camera captured changed."
Upon reflecting, Yang Minhan remembered that after she had adjusted her angle, Bai Xue indeed moved her. But she was so excited at that moment that she didn't notice her angle had shifted.
"Why did you move me? Didn't you want me to collect evidence?" She was again puzzled.
"I just wanted to protect both of us and provide an extra line of defense."
"Why? Did you know in advance that he would recognize you?" Yang Minhan stared at her in disbelief, 'Are you psychic or something?'
Bai Xue shook her head, "No, I didn't anticipate that my presence would implicate you."
"Then why would you do that? If we hadn't been detected, wouldn't it all have been in vain?"
"Minhan, I don't know if you noticed, but from the moment we entered, the man who identified you as a cop was watching you. His gaze seemed dangerous. That made me wary, so I moved you just in case." She had been right in the end—if she hadn't moved Yang Minhan and those pictures had been taken, it could've been troublesome. Even though Yang Minhan's identity was eventually revealed.
One thing did make her happy that night— her backup plan had been to pretend she was there to catch a cheater. Therefore, she made sure all of Yang Minhan's photos were of Su Yan and Jones Ellie. Ironically, that's the same line Su Yan used later on.
Was it a case of great minds think alike?
Okay! Maybe it was just coincidence, but she liked to think of it as a synchronicity of minds.
