The driver was a piece of work, not recognizing Su Yan from the stir he caused a while ago. He thought the man before him was trying to deceive him with a counterfeit. Did he look like a fool? Five million!!
Only a twitch of Su Yan's lips betrayed his annoyance at the ignorant idiot. "Then call the police!"
"Fine, I'll call, I'm not afraid of you!" The driver took out his phone.
"Please, driver don't. My earrings are gold; they should cover the fare." Bai Wanrou removed her earrings. It would be incredibly embarrassing for people of their stature to be taken to the police station due to unpaid taxi fare.
Like someone from a TV show, the driver grabbed the earrings and bit them hard. They were genuine gold. "This is better!"
"Idiot!" Su Yan insulted coldly.
"Yan, don't bother with such people." Bai Wanrou tried to calm him down.
"He doesn't deserve it," Su Yan retorted disdainfully, leading Bai Wanrou towards the hotel.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Su, but we can't offer you our services." The lobby manager apologized.
"You won't accommodate me? Su Yan asked incredulously. They had the audacity to deny him service!
"That's Elder Su's instructions. Please, Mr. Su, don't make this difficult for us." The manager's forehead was drenched in sweat. Goodness, it's so hard to be a nobody these days. They were stuck in the middle of the grandfather and grandson feud.
No matter, if they won't accommodate him, he'll go somewhere else. Su Yan decided to go to a restaurant owned by a friend.
However, even his friend dared not host him.
"Sorry, Yan. If I host you, your grandfather will ruin my family. I have elderly parents and little children to take care of." His friend could only apologize.

Bai Wanrou quickly dialed. She was tired, and longed for the comfort of her soft bed.
"Mum, Yan and I are at the Welcome Grand Hotel. Can you ask someone to pick us up?"
"Rou Rou, what's going on with you and Su Yan?" concern was evident in Meng Shaomei's voice.
"Grandpa Su broke off ties with Yan due to our relationship. Yan left the household." Bai Wanrou truthfully admitted.
"What were you doing? Why didn't you talk to him?"
I tried to reason with him, but he wouldn't listen! Don't worry, I'll try to convince Yan over time." Bai Wanrou thought of persuading Su Yan to apologize to Elder Su in a few days when he had cooled off.
"Then only come back home when you've convinced him to return."
"What? Mom, what do you mean?" Bai Wanrou was shocked.
"Elder Su called, and threatened to make us beggars if we helped you two. Rou Rou, Elder Su is angry right now, and I'm certain he'll do as he says. I won't say more, but try to persuade Yan to apologize to Elder Su as soon as possible. He's Elder Su's only grandson. He wouldn't truly abandon him." "Mom, I will persuade Yan, but we need a place to stay tonight. Can you let us stay at your place just for one night?"
Despite all the convincing, she couldn't get her mother to take them in.
"Yan, what do we do?" She looked at him, her face the picture of vulnerability.
"Rou Rou, are you willing to suffer with me?"
