Even though the swelling had reduced significantly, there were still obvious signs which naturally drew their attention and questions.
"I accidentally knocked it."
"Xue, do we look like three-year-old children to you?" Wang Ningjing was displeased. How could a minor knock cause such a bruise?
Bai Xue gave an embarrassed smile. "My injury is not the focus here."
"Alright, let's talk about the main issue then." Wang Ningjing knew that Bai Xue would not reveal anything she didn't want to talk about.
"Xue, weren't you and Su Yan like oil and water? Why are you suddenly getting married?" Lu Yiyi frowned, instinctively sensing that this was not a good development.
"During the time you two were away, there were some troubles in the Bai Clan…" Bai Xue briefly explained the situation.
Upon hearing the news, Lu Yiyi and Wang Ningjing exchanged glances, then looked at Bai Xue with serious expressions. "Xue, we don't agree with your decision!"

They both knew that she had had feelings for Su Yan for over a decade.

Bai Wanrou looked even worse than before she had left, which made them worry about receiving bad news.

A cold smile spread across Meng Shaomei's face, "If Bai Xue was a woman despised by everyone, will Elder Su still allow her to step foot into Su family's door?"
