"Xiao Xue, you are really incredible!" Yang Minhan was ecstatic at the time, completely oblivious to her surroundings. She hadn't expected Bai Xue's perception to be so keen, making plans for their escape without her even realizing it.
"I only habitually check the safety of our surroundings, it's not any great skill." Bai Xue was naturally cautious. If a place posed a potential danger, her first instinct was to survey the environment and prepare an escape route.

Bai Xue did not have a chance to refuse.
"If you're itching for death, don't drag my Mrs. Su into it! Her life is invaluable!" Su Yan cast a cold eye at her, his irritation palpable for anyone who dared to mess with his Mrs. Su.
"I invited Xiao Xue, not you! Quit butting in!" Yang Minhan couldn't help but retort.
"Xiao Han!" Qiao Tian pulled Yang Minhan into his arms to prevent her from angering Su Yan further.
"Minhan, I'm not interested in joining the police force." Bai Xue wasn't one for adventure, let alone having self-sacrificing spirit like Yang Minhan. She was a businesswoman who smelled of money.
Su Yan gave a hum of satisfaction with Bai Xue's reply.
In regards to Xu Qiming, Bai Xue had only given him five days of leave. From what he knew of her, if he didn't return to work after five days, he could consider himself out of a job. So, no matter how uneasy he felt about leaving Bai Wanrou behind, he had no choice but to say goodbye.
"Rou Rou, you have to understand that none of this is your fault. You need to stop dwelling on it, okay?" Over the past few days, he had made some progress in his relationship with Bai Wanrou. At least they were on a first-name basis now, no longer calling her Miss Bai.
"Do you really have to go? Can't you stay with me a few more days?" Bai Wanrou didn't want him to leave. She was incredibly fragile at the moment and needed someone to lean on.

"When CEO Bai came to talk to you, his intention was to agitate you, to warn you not to go looking for President Su. If you ignore his warning and go back to look for President Su, the consequences..." Xu Qiming left his sentence hanging, but the implications were terrifying.
Bai Wanrou shivered. She knew she could not withstand Bai Xue's revenge. She started to panic, feeling lost. "Brother Xu, what should I do?"
"Just calm down and continue your studies here. I'll be watching over things there. When the time is right, I'll come to get you." Xu Qiming believed that time was a cure for all wounds and a destroyer of all things.
