Zhen Mu didn't move, suspecting this was just another of his illusions, only this one felt too real.
So real that he didn't dare, or wasn't willing, to remove his hand and see with his own eyes whether it was indeed an illusion or reality.
He hoped it was an illusion, yet feared that it genuinely was just that, much like his dreams every night for the past half a month.
In his dreams, she was still by his side, tender and loving, her smile as radiant as a flower, spending every passing moment with him.
However, once awake, he found himself alone, consumed by sadness and desolation.
If that's the case, he thought, it would be good for this illusion, this feeling so real, to linger for a bit longer.
"Zhen Mu, it's me!" A gentle voice once again echoed, this time close at hand and crystal clear rather than distant and ethereal.
